2020 Design Live Reviews

The cloud items need updating. The program is still a little buggy. I sincerely wish I didn't "upgrade". It's not worth paying $2,200 US dollars a year for. That part is a joke!

The availability of manufacturer's catalogs. Their customer support is very good. The EZ render feature.

Ridiculously overpriced. Cloud items are outdated. Buggy.

As mentioned in Pro, I need to put more into learning the program. I have used Pro Kitchen, and found it more user friendly. I used to be a graphic designer on Mac, which is user-friendly. Quicker steps to get things done. This program is more rigid, but I personally need more time into it.

When I get more time with this, I see potential for good renderings if needed after I take time to set up preferences, mainly dimensions and schemes.

The elevations and floor plans should be side by side not stacked. Monitors are horizontal.

On floor plan, you can't hide a layer to reach a layer below. You have to move everything.

Moving groupings-- Suggest something like, hold shift key to select items to move, and let go. As is now, I have to select group, then right click >group, then move, then right click >ungroup. A lot of clicking if I don't want to keep group for long haul.

In Presentations, setting up title block, I'd like use different size fonts.

Would like use of ruler guides.

I love working on 2020. My biggest problem is the lighting not being up to industry standards. Using the Cloud to get appliances has been a big help but someone needs to fix the corrupt ones and the ones where the coloring isn't correct.

It's an easy program to learn to use. I have been using it for several years and they are always updating it!

The 2020 support is amazing. Very helpful and kind.

The Cloud has more items to use to make your designs come to life.

The lighting still is not up to par. It should be more like Chef Architect where the lighting is perfect and realistic every time.

Some of the appliances in the Cloud are corrupt and or don't show the correct coloring in the plans as they do in the Cloud when I select them.

Overall is has been a great experience, I've been using 2020 Design going on 10 years and it's slowly improved over the years.

- Simple and easy to use
- Being able to have cabinets and appliances via Cloud is convenient and handy
- The rendering is quick and good quality
- Different options on how files are formatted and saved
- Menu options are easy to read

- No developer access, only way to create a catalog is to send it off to their team to put together
- Used to have access to Sketchup importation, but it's no longer available
- Over half the Cloud catalogues are locked by the manufacturers, I'm not sure if requesting access gets seen by the manufacturers. I have never been approved for access to any I've requested
- Lighting and textures are lacking

I like the 20/20 and the available support. I also like that the support is well trained and in almost all cases were able to answer questions on the spot.

I like working with people and being able to put their thoughts into a picture. It helps build client confidence!!

I wish that finishing ends of the cabinets was a lot less clicks!!

We use this product on a daily basis and have our patterns of work. Again, I am sure there are many things that we could be doing better, but the cost is too much for the right training.

Simple to use, Customer service is great, and many features and benefits that suit our needs and electronic catalogs.

LOTS of options, but not enough time to learn everything. The cost of training is expensive for small companies.

Not great. Very surprised on how long it takes to load the product onto a desktop logging in and the time lost is detrimental to our company productivity.

Accessibility from remote locations is a huge plus although we have not utilize that yet. Also, not needing the 2020 key is some thing that we enjoy.

Last Friday there was some sort of issue with the 2020 server, and no one could access for a few hours.

This is a very useful tool. When designing spaces for customers. More complete selections of visual attributes would be helpful.

Makes it easy to show customers what their space will look like with the 3D imaging. Easy to incorporate the specific features they desire.

Loading catalogues can be difficult. Some catalogues are more difficult than others.

It is overall good but needs some Improvements with updates, cut and paste option in preferences / catalogs, save options for custom made toolbar and fix lockup / crash issues.

Excellent graphics, lighting has become better, excellent cloud catalog options and decent interface.

Too many crashes and lockups.
Unable to easily move new catalogs into folders. Have to move each new catalog up one column at a time and it takes forever. Need a cut and paste option.
Doesn't save my settings (toolbar setup ) when I download a new version of 2020.
Needs a room setting so you can draw each room under a separate tab. Thus being able to have more than one floor plan and not having such a large floorplan with all the rooms on the same page Thus making hard to read.

I work with this program almost every day and every day something frustrates me about it. There are not enough texture options for things like floor and cabinets. I can't find a way to show hickory cabinetry. We do custom kitchens and the program is just not up to par with that. It's very hard to give customers accurate renderings with this program. I wish it was easier to get more catalogs in the program because I still don't fully understand how to do that and I have wasted so much time trying.

Gets the job done. If you need something for simple kitchens this program works great. If you are in to custom kitchens the program is a pain to work with.

Lots of glitches. The cloud is confusing. Customizations is limited especially when working with angles.

I couldn't do what I do without the many benefits of the 2020 design software. The intuitive interface makes using 2020 a pleasure.

2020 is an intuitive easy to use design software for residential interior designers focused on kitchen and bath creations.

The occasional glitch where the program shuts down.

Overall, an absolute great tool to have in the design industry. Especially kitchen cabinet design/pricing.

Ability to show clients photo-realistic renderings to visualize their kitchen. Integrated options from cabinet manufacturers is priceless.

Some quirks, and some basic selections missing (such as lighting options, trending accessories, etc.)

Great experience. Really good customer support and very efficient at helping you through any issues you may have.

Very easy to get designs together in a short time frame. Intuitive and laid out well. Lots of ability to make it fit for your own style.

A bit hard to figure out how to output plans but once you learn it, it makes sense.

I struggled and wasted a lot of time trying to do quick turnarounds for customer designs. Those program is not user friendly, nothing is instinctive. I hate this software. It doesn't give me the results I need.

I liked having access to real products and having direct means to create invoices. It was fun to pull in accessories and views. I liked working in one companies product catalog and having the direct connection to the kitchen cabinet company.

The software is clunky and not user friendly. I started working with computers more than 35 years ago. I used Autocad since it was DOS. I've worked with Autocad, SketchUp and Photoshop and other 3-d programs that don't exist anymore. This is by far the most awkward, buggy, clumsy program I've ever worked in. I can't create a second floor or an exterior view. If I don't predraw on paper every measurement before I start a model, I end up trying to fix it for an hour. The basic 2020 catalogs don't even have a pure white quartz or even attractive, modern choices. Customizing furnishings is severely limited. Moving furniture or cabinets especially is ridiculous. I try to move a product and it won't move the small amount I need to finish the design.

I have been using 2020 Design since 2016. It has exponentially improved since Version 9 :) This system is great for anything cabinets and countertops.

The ability to download catalogs and adjust pricing is the best features. There is a lot of different ways to design within the system, and being able to manipulate the settings to your liking helps with efficiency. The life-like renders that can be generated help the customer visualize and also helps the designer accurately convey their ideas.

My biggest issue with 2020 design is the textures and generic furniture. It really needs updated to items that are more current in trends.
I think more ceiling options and better lighting would be beneficial as well.

My experience with 2020 is very good, I think this system is a good helper for beginners to experts.

2020 Live for me as a designer is a really good tool. It is really friendly and functional. They are improving all the time, providing support and innovation.

I will not consider cons, I will consider growth. Any system has many opportunities to improve and 2020 is doing this all the time. I am pretty sure any version will be providing a better reflection of the high-quality renderings with our loose friendly platform.

My experience with 2020 Live has been very good. My renderings look fantastic, and I teach designer's how to improve their 2020 Design Live renderings and create social media post using Reels, and Canva. I wrote a 2020 Design Class on how to place lighting in 2020 Design for Doug Walter, CMKBD, Architect and he presented it to an NKBA chapter. I write Kitchen and Bath Design material every week.

As a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer, I have used 2020 for 25 years for the design and sales of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. I find my renderings are top notch and my drawings have the specifications needed for my installers to accurately install cabinetry. Easy render has been a great addition and I am looking forward to new and innovative additions to the software. I invested in a new computer and 4 K monitor and have found any problems I had with 2020 Design, resolved with having a high-power computer that can handle the program. I have been an administrator in the 2020 PUGs Facebook group, for 4 years, and we help designers with their everyday 2020 Design questions. 2020 Design Live is a great rendering software for my business needs. I recommend 2020 Design in the Facebook groups I administrate.

Some of the wood tone cabinetry colors wash out in 2020 live renderings. It's as if there is a slight haze over the renders.

I love using the software. I have to use it on a daily basis. It is a great help so my customers can visualize their finished product which helps to secure the sale.

I like using 2020 Design live because I am able to show my customer's their finished product in 3d-2d I am even able to get each design a personal touch other than just adding walls and cabinets and bathroom basics. I can add just about anything you can imagine. It's easy to use and there's always answers online if your stuck or you can even speak with someone online to help you during the business hours. All my cabinet manufacturers use it so I am able to get the prices right there.

It would be great if there were more countertop companies like UMI/Pompeii as of now I only can use 3 of the companies. But Flooring Companies would definitely be an awesome bonus to have so I can give my customers the complete visual with the entire remodel.

I loved 2020 when I was selling semi custom, large company cabinets. It has been nothing but frustrating now that I am in high end custom.

Probably works great for semi custom and stock cabinetry. Many catalogs available. Many options for decor, appliances, etc.

Extremely time consuming to work with full custom cabinetry. Every time there is an update, I have to go back and check all of my settings. Many of the catalogs are a hassle to modify. Its like there is no standard for vendor catalogs because most are terrible at best, unless you are working with one of the big lines.

2020 Design is the key that locks down sales. Without this program at our showroom we wouldn’t be able to help customers visualize their space. I absolutely enjoy designing in 2020 And can’t wait to see what the next upgrade shows.

2020 Design is the beneficial program to show all of my customers what their dream Kitchen and bathroom look like. With the ability to place and texture from there exact product it really helps them visualize their new space!

2020 does take time to learn, there is so much to it that I still learn about it over the years and updates, overall I would say my con to the program is the color of the cabinets, sometimes they just aren’t the color of the sample.
