2020 Design Live Reviews

It's just ok. My company is using it so I have no other alternative to design in another program. I would recommend the team to do some upgrades.

Built in rendering feature, built in construction drawing set print outs, option to download catalogs, good for beginners, easy to learn.

Poor rendering quality, software freezes often, limited options when it comes to designing, outdated and not enough items in the cloud.

I use 2020 Design Live every day. It's an invaluable tool for Kitchen Designers. After you get the hang of the program it is an efficient and wonderful way to design a space.

The rendering capabilities enable designers to show clients a clear picture of what their space could be.
The symbols available are useful for making almost all schematics.
The tools are clearly laid out and very intuitive.
The program and objects available within allow you to create almost any structure in 3D that a client could want to see.

There are limited additional items available in the Cloud. The items that are available, are not always able to be manipulated into the desired format.
I dislike being unable to use these features when disconnected to the internet.

Love the program. Would recommend it to everyone that draws kitchens.
Love how i can logout from work and login at home.

Has come a long way from Version 9 which I loved but I am warming up to the way the program runs now.

Have a hard time with lighting not distorting the cabinetry.

Overall an amazing program that is a huge selling feature to my jobs. Being able to create such realistic renders help both the client and I design every detail of the job. And with the ability to make my Floorplan on site with magic plan helps bring it all together that much faster and with less mistakes.

I love how beautiful the renders are so photorealistic helps bring my projects to life.

Magic plan and 2020 together help shave time and minimize mistakes allowing me to do Floorplan with ease.

I find the software utilizes more cpu power on my renders then gpu... I wish it were the other way around , or a balance between the 2 as I have a very powerful gpu.

I get a lot of server errors where sometimes I can't get In to my program which delays my jobs and pushes my workload and timeliness

If you could create holes into your parts it could make take the creativity much further. Wine racks for example.

Buying more licenses for other designers in mY workforce I don't think should cost the same amount. I feel other licenses should be half the price at least. Or at least offer 2 more licenses at the price of 1 full. So say 3 licenses for the price of 2.

I have been using 20/20 design for 20+ years. Over that time the improvements in have been substantial and more user friendly.

Having the ability to use 20/20 on multiple computers without having to use the security key is fantastic!

The only con is needing to remember to log out of 20/20 Design live so that you can use it on another computer later. If you forget, there is not a work around that I know of.

Overall it was a new experience, I liked it and hoping to use it more in the future. I would love to explore more on this software.

It has a lot of choices in terms of cabinet design and door options. Also materials selection is wide.

I think its not user friendly as you need to navigate into some of the options. Sometime it got me confuse on where to locate the icons or commands.

It's just OK.

We use it everyday whole 8 hours for 2 computers planning to buy another account. But we wish could upgrade the items design more modern. All old design stuff in the cloud browser.

More realistic design.
Can install factory catalogue.
Can use any other computer, no need stick.

Freezes and crashes a lot.
Cloud browser is not modern - floors, tile, countertop are ugly
Handles design poor/ no choices.
No cloud storage options.
Bad lighting options/ specially small areas.
Cloud sometimes not working.
On the live version took off all items from the main menu, that makes us uncomfortable when cloud items not working.

It's the best tool for design I think out there. I have used other brands and nothing compares to 2020.

It give the client enough visual information to design a project. Also has great Three D views. Like the amount of storage too.

Lags a quit a bit and crushes when under a lot of movement.

2020 keeps getting worse. Fix the issues before trying to make it better. It's never been perfect but it shouldn't get harder to use.

Rendering have improved. Realistic images have gotten better. Lighting is easier to work with. Cloud is easier to work with.

2020 has been more unstable and crashes much more frequently since being forced to go to the digital key. Catalogs are unstable and don't work with upgraded versions. 2020 cloud will fail more often than not. I don't like the constant ask for upgrade of versions. I don't like how it randomly signs you out.

Overall I'm happy with using this tool, and my clients love being able to "see" their space. I would use this tool again.

This program offers high quality renderings to help sell to clients which is a huge asset because so many people are super visual people. Buying something they cant see is hard, so they love when they can envision their space with the renderings.

Crashing issues prevail, and can be incredibly frustrating.

Being able to create cabinet orders is great, however, it is a little clunky with the inability to switch out cabinet and cabinet styles easier.

I like that I am able to set up my cabinet orders with the exact order and have a nice rendering.

I wish we could switch out cabinets with a replacement option and the same thing with the style of cabinet. I think a great feature would be to have the option of switching the cabinet style without having to replace the entire cabinet.

Best kitchen design program on the market. Excellent customer service and great online training available.

Relative ease of use to get started. Lots of training modules to help with more advanced designs. Customer service is always ready to help with any issues I may have.

Crashes too often, could be a computer problem. Some features that I feel are basic are missing from the program. Setting a bottom alignment for the upper cabinets vs setting a top alignment, Getting a box count for freight costs and being able to customize the reports a little more. Overall, I really enjoy working with the program and look forward to learning how to do more with it.

Overall, I would rate this kitchen design software 5 stars. I recently had the opportunity to use a kitchen design software that impressed me greatly. This software was incredibly user-friendly, with an intuitive interface that made it easy to create and modify kitchen designs. From choosing the layout and dimensions of the kitchen to selecting the materials and finishes, this software offered a wide range of tools and options that made the design process both enjoyable and efficient.

There were some minor drawbacks to this software. For example, it could be a little slow to load some of the more complex designs, which could be frustrating at times. Additionally, the software's extensive library of materials and finishes could be overwhelming for some users, especially those who are new to design software.

Overall I would say that as I learn things, I am liking it more and more. I like that I can use SW paint selections because it makes it easier when implementing my design into the actual home.

I like that I can see what I am putting together in 3D view. I also like the decoration items that I am able to use throughout my design.

I don't like how some things are pretty confusing to figure out.

I have learned how to get around a lot of things to make my visuals work, but I shouldn't have to . It's great that 2020 does update and seek out input. But go back into the basic areas of the program and fix those things. It's important for those of us who are slammed with work and don't have time to spend hours creating renderings in programs outside of 2020 or to figure out the crazy lighting.
Generally - I love how much the program has changed from when I started using back at version 4!

I do like the speed and the reduced amount of crashing. There seems to be more options to fine tune the renderings.

It is difficult to figure out the rendering program and getting the lighting right - my clients don't need the super realistic looking pictures that take so many hours to create. I just can't seem to get he lighting right.
- the cloud browser for decorative items is horrible - needs simplifying and updated pieces ( some stuff is so overly modern and ugly , especially in lighting and stools/ chairs ) - I don't care for sketch up at all
- PLEASE fix it so that we can trace a surface on a wall for back splash tile and it will automatically cut around a window or pass through the same way a countertop cuts around for a sink - these simple things will make it so much easier.
- Still have problems with trying to do 2 rooms with different ceiling configurations on the same plan.

I've used this program since 1975. The program is an industry standard, and easy to use. It is a great tool for in home designing with clients. The product has changed over the years as industry has evolved. Customer support is always there for questions or it issues. The renderings can sell the project as customers can actually visualize the final vision.

I have no real dislikes with the program, I have used many others in the industry.

2020 is great CAD software! I highly recommend it. In the short period of time that I've been trained on it I have found that it is fairly user-friendly for those that have experience working with CAD software in general. I enjoy this software so much that I play around with designs on it when I'm off the clock!

I love how this software allows you to add final touches like furniture, decor, and even dogs! I work from home, and when I design something for my customers it's of the utmost importance that anything they see is of the highest quality, and this software fully allows me accomplish that.

Sometimes 2020 can be a tad glitchy, but this might be a computer issue. With any software like this, if you don't install it on a computer that can handle it then issues are sure to arise.

Overall very good and I would recommend to others that they use. It is easy to use and learn. I do wish there was a more interactive 3D tour option.

I like how I can get pricing and complete a drawing all in one and that there are so many catalog options I can pull into this tool. The end result is in a great visual for the client with a price attached to it.

I wish there were a few more options for the 3D to include a 3D tour for the customer, especially when there are multiple rooms.

It is a good product, but I do get frustrated when it decides to shut off on me before I have a chance to save my work. Time wasted. It says auto save, but not if something goes wonky...then you loose everything.

It is easy to use. Would be nice to see more window and door choices. It is hard to see a lot of detail in the darker wood colors.

I think the coloration could improve, especially on the countertops and room paint.
I also feel you should update the countertop, tile floor and wood floor color options.

I love 2020 Design, and will continue to use it throughout my career. Clients love seeing all angles of their project and enjoy the coloured renders before committing.

As a kitchen/bath designer, 2020 Design Live makes creating and pricing extremely easy. Our cabinetry suppliers works hand in hand with 2020 Design, so that designers can work directly with the cabinetry that they offer for perfect designs!

The system seems to crash when you have a large design or complex project. I suggest saving work often, and creating separate files for multiple rooms within the job.
