2020 Design Live Reviews

It saves tons of time, but it's probably shortened my life with anger and blood pressure by the same amount. Why doesn't somebody fix it -- especially for the price -- should include 24hr customer service & include an anger management tutorial.

Rendering is great. Saves time with edits. Great tool for designing, presenting, pricing, and ordering.

Super glitchy and frustrating. Can't work for long if not signed in, but can be SUPER laggy ("hangs") when signed in. It was better before "Live".

Overall I'd say the ease of use and helpful videos make this product very user friendly. There aren't any questions I haven't been able to get answered.

I liked the videos and chat help I received. It made learning the program much easier. Returning to design is easy with the help of 2020 Live.

I don't like the speed of loading some options and a few items that are very hard to correct.

Learning every day! There are lots of options that I still need to dive into. I am happy to see what my creative side is going to be able to bring out.

I enjoyed working with 2020 Design Live and touching on some of the basics. I am fairly new to the system so it is hard for me to determine what I like and what I don't like. I do like the 3D design option to see views in different head spaces.

I may be looking in the wrong places for this, but it would be nice to have more training videos made available.

I have been using 2020 Design for 27 years. Overall, I have been very happy with the software, and I must say...I wouldn't want to do my job without it. It has made my career so much more enjoyable. Thank you for this exceptional product!

My favorite thing about Design Live is the Cloud Catalog. Being able to pull specific appliances, plumbing fixtures and design elements from the Cloud is fantastic.
I also love that there is no usb key to access the software now. That makes it much more user friendly, especially for Designers that don't always work from the same location. The fear of losing or breaking a key was always a big stressor.

There are still instances where the program crashes, i.e. when creating a rendering that has a fair amount of detail. Sometimes this can even corrupt a file and you lose all your hard work on a project.

It gets easier the more I use it. I am glad that I had this set up for me. Without the training all I was able to do was just the basics. Now I am exploring more and more.

I like the entire set up. It has been challenging but with the training that I have used it seemed to help a lot. Overall the more I do the easier it becomes.

Nothing there is nothing that I have disliked. All of the training has been the best thing to help me understand.

Overall, it is easy to use, easy to learn, it's very helpful when putting together my projects! I love the rendering views, it is especially helpful when putting together a design!

I love how user friendly this software is. I can maneuver around very easily. I love the cloud options for adding things to your rendering to make it feel more realistic for the customer.

I honestly can't think of something I DON'T like. Sometimes my PC doesn't like when I'm in 2020 for too long and it might freeze up on me. Every feature about 2020 itself is excellent!

Once learning the software it has been good to use. For the yearly expense I do wish the Cloud catalog was updated with more current selections.

It is a good kitchen design program. Pretty straightforward and easy to use. The elevations are great for clients to visualize.

The selection of lights, tchotchkes, chairs, flowers, accent pieces is very poor. Definitely need more options especially for the yearly cost.

The software lately has been slow especially when using the perspectives.

I use 2020 because I have to in order to design and install cabinetry. It gets the job done, but there's a lot of room for improvement.

2020 is a great program to assist with designing stock and semi-custom cabinetry and winning jobs and providing work orders for installers. It has a lot of capabilities and most cabinet manufacturers provide catalogs that integrate with 2020.

The program is not intuitive. It takes a lot of time to learn the ins and outs of operating it smoothly. There are free training resources on youtube which are helpful. However, I feel that they could do a lot more to support designer learning. My biggest beef with 2020 is the cost of the program itself and the cost to attend their training events. Both are outrageous. However they have a bit of a monopoly and can charge what they want. There is no reason to charge the prices they do for providing very low overhead webinar trainings, especially when they're getting $2100/yr just for each license. I also really don't like the way their license key works. If you work from more than one PC you're sure to run into issues when you log in at a different desktop and forgot to log out on the last PC you logged in with. I also don't like how you have to download all of your catalogs on each computer that you use. Invariably the catalogs will end up having different names so if you want to pull up a design you did on one PC on another, it will think they are different catalogs even if it's the same version of the same catalog. Very annoying. It's also glitchy. I frequently have the problem while designing of not being able to select the item (cabinet, measurement, label, etc.) that I want because it often doesn't select the item that your pointer is touching.

Time-intensive, not recommended for highly professional architectural presentations. Good for a quick kitchen layout.

Fast if using a generic catalog, or for a quick pricing exercise. Immediate updates in all views when designing in 2D.

Too many catalog issues to list, but the most egregious problem is dimension instability, ongoing for the last several versions. Every time a design is reopened, or a wall examined, or a wall dimension adjusted, dimensions jump out of place, as do notes, lines, etc. High quality rendering difficult to achieve. Missing many crucial abilities, such as architectural detailing.

Overall, I think it's a great program. It has come a long way. But I still think that the construction details are lacking. The floorplans and elevations need to be cleaner and easy enough for the installers to read. The mechanicals need to be better (plumbing, electrical). Would be nice to have the ability to do custom tile designs and show the actual sizes and shapes of tile on the plans.

Fast Renderings. Cabinet pricing makes estimating quick and easy. Easy for the client to visualize their space.

Lack of Detail. Difficult to work with dimensions on plans. Mechanical placement issues (not detailed enough for installers).

I have used several different cabinet design programs to include Cabinet Vision and 2020 is by far the best HANDS DOWN. This software provides the most extensive in app catalogs and the renderings are certainly the most realistic. Although the software is very powerful the training is top notch and readily available. This software is a key part of our business and I suggest it for any cabinet manufacture or supplier.

Access to all the major cabinet lines.
In app help and easy trouble shooting.
Ability to interface with Sketchup.
Quick and Easy Renderings.
Access to training videos at no extra charge.
The decorative item catalog is massive.

I would like to see a large selection of lighting.

I haven't used 20/20 in about 10 years and I'm amazed how many more options are available. This really provides you the look that you need to show your clients.

I like that the Cloud Browser is available. Its provides you with a lot more options to choose to provide your client with a good idea on what there project would look like.

At this time everything is fine. Maybe a few more tutorial videos would help. It would give the opportunity to watch on your own time,

Ease of use, short learning curve, support from the 2020 experts, look of design renders and plans.

Can't think of much that is a Con. They could have better images in their stock catalogs. example: more choices for rugs, prints, etc.

I have been using 2020 for 25 years and love this product. I would recommend this to anyone in the industry.

I wish there were more items automatically in the cloud catalog. And that the catalog search was easier.

The best things about 2020 are the ways it lets designers customize elements to showcase real items.

Faults- surface tool needs textures 2 be adjustable.

Overall i like the new Design Live. I use it almost daily and have enjoyed the ease of use, as well as accessibility of cloud items to make the perfect kitchen design.

Love the textured pictures. They almost look like a picture when i present them to my customers. I also like that you can now do walls at more angles when drawing rooms. That was a huge improvement.

If i had a complaint it would be only one. Sometimes if my walls are not 100% straight with out realizing they will have a jog, and then my cabinets wont set on them, i have to drag them over from a blank space on the page.

I love the product. I just wish the perspectives were better to use. They use to allow you to do a view that did a perspective on just a wall instead of the entire drawing. I do not feel like the current views are as useful as what they use to have.

I love 2020 Live. I use it for both of my positions. I own my own business and I work at a Corporation that is a Kitchen and Bath, where I design as well. I have been using the software for over a decade.

I do not like the views. I wish you could do better.

Okay, too expensive for the benefits. When I call for help I have been told I am not signed up for certain things. So what does my 1000.00 really get me.

Comfortable with it. You get use to somethings after a while using it for so long. But, for what it cost not worth the money.

My 20/20 program keeps closing without warning. I really was only impressed with 20/20 at the beginning. Now, not so much.

2020 Offers all of the needs for getting a design presentation together for the customer. 10/10!!!!!

I have used a few different software's for designing kitchen and baths and this is by the best one!!

The only matter that I have found is the occasional crashing causing you to loose a design. So save often!
