What is AdRem NetCrunch?

NetCrunch is a modern, scalable network monitoring and observability platform designed to simplify infrastructure and traffic management across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. It monitors everything from servers, switches, and firewalls to operating systems, cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, including IoT, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), applications, logs, and custom data via REST, SNMP, WMI, or scripts-all without agents.

NetCrunch offers over 670 built-in monitoring packs and policies that automatically apply based on device role, enabling fast setup and consistent configuration across thousands of nodes. Its dynamic maps, real-time dashboards, and Layer 2/3 topology views provide instant visibility into the health and performance of the entire infrastructure. Unlike legacy tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or WhatsUp Gold, NetCrunch uses simple node-based licensing with no hidden costs, eliminating sensor limits and pricing traps.

It includes intelligent alert correlation, alert automation & suppression, and proactive triggers to minimize noise and maximize clarity, along with 40+ built-in alert actions including script execution, email, SMS, webhooks, and seamless integrations with tools like Jira, PagerDuty, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. Out-of-the -box AI-enhanced root cause analysis and recommendation for every alert.

NetCrunch also features full hardware and software inventory, device configuration backup and change tracking, bandwidth analysis, flow monitoring (NetFlow, sFlow, IPFIX), and flexible REST-based data ingestion. Designed for speed, automation, and scale, NetCrunch enables IT teams to monitor thousands of devices from a single server, reducing manual work while delivering actionable insights instantly.

Designed for on-prem (including air-gapped), cloud self-hosted or hybrid networks, it is the ideal future-ready monitoring platform for businesses that demand simplicity, power, and total infrastructure awareness.

    AdRem NetCrunch network monitoring

    Date: Dec 01 2022
    Summary

Overall it is relative easy to get going with NetCrunch compared to some Linux based competitors. You don't need extensive modifying of configuration skills to get going. NetCrunch is all GUI based and the GUI is on par with modern standards.

You can use individual logins so every admin can monitor the devices/services that he/she is admin for and the alerting works great if you use the client passively.

We are using NetCrunch for over 2 years now and this tool is perfect for our use case.

    Positive

It is easy to add new devices.
    Good looking dashboards.
some good standard dashboards to get started.
Dashboards are adjustable to individual needs.
You can configure alerts per device group or individual devices.

    Negative

It can look a bit overwhelming when you first start.
Some features need an addon license.

    A solid app

    Date: Dec 01 2022
    Summary

The install is straight forward. The configuration is many, meaning it can be tedious, however it isn't hard. If you take the time, you get a great picture of your network, along with event notifications. I personally like how I can create my own 'map' of my infrastructure based on our internal layout. Highly recommend the product!

    Positive

Reliable app; specific network mappings to individual liking; great reporting on events, and great price for what i need.

    Negative

A bit tedious in configuring monitoring; need to pay attention when setting up / creating 'maps'

Good product, could use some tweaks

    Date: Dec 01 2022
    Summary

Mostly positive, but the small bugs drive you mad. There are better monitoring solutions, but the price of them is 10x of NetCrunch.

    Positive

It's pretty easy to use, and it's easy to make changes that affect multiple devices at once, rather than doing them one at a time.

    Negative

There are always, always bugs. Even when they release a new version to fix previous bugs, they introduce new ones. I think their target audience is more small business, not so much enterprise.

    Nice product!

    Date: Dec 01 2022
    Summary

We will definitely be moving from a competing product to this solution. I feel the support and presales are also far nicer than other competing products. It just feels like a smaller more personal company to deal with.

    Positive

Easy to install and get up and running and less resource intensive than the "other" monitoring product. It's also far easier to license.

    Negative

Maybe lacking in some templates for Exchange 2019 etc.

    Monitoring with ease

    Date: Dec 01 2022
    Summary

One of the best overall monitoring tools. Builds network diagrams from switch configuration (if configured) and shows dependencies to which port nodes are connected. Monitors multiple platforms and brands with built-in templates.

    Positive

    - Fast to deploy, install and set network ranges
    - Automatic node add within network range
    - Easy scripting/actions for eg. service restart if fail, autoextend disks when full

    Negative

    - Takes a while to get familiar.
    - Bit hard to create custom dashboards to get same view as other familiar monitoring tools.

    Trial NetCrunch Review

    Date: Dec 02 2022
    Summary

I tried the free trial using my computer as a test platform to see what its benefits were. I monitored my email (security issues), my files (on PC), online work and Zoom. This was only a small trial test.

    Positive

I liked the fact that I did not need another person or help desk to install and operate the software. I also liked that it was customizable.

    Negative

Did not find anything that I did not like during the limited trial period.

NetCrunch - very useful for us

    Date: Feb 03 2020
    Summary

We are monitoring several physical and virtual devices with NetCrunch, including VMware hosts, Windows and Linux guests, wired and wireless network components, NetApp storages and so on.

    Positive

We are using NetCrunch for monitoring some specific Windows services and even restarting them when they fail, which is a very useful feature for us.

    Negative

Currently, we don't have any issues and I can't find any cons.
