What is AlumniMagnet?
Our most complex Enterprise deployment has effectively powered over 250 unique web properties for diverse business owners, each utilizing different data frameworks, all seamlessly integrated and standardized! We take great pride in fostering a strong and successful partnership that has endured for more than nine years. The UIAA, widely regarded as the largest alumni association in the world, showcases an exceptional commitment and enthusiasm from its millions of members. Yet, this vast scale brings remarkable challenges that require a flexible solution. The NIU Advancement and Development team emerges as a true leader in this domain! This innovative group of professionals requires a highly adaptable and feature-rich platform. NIU's distinctive implementation has been instrumental in enhancing our tailored gifting and campaign management tool. The platform offers customized search options, user access, and display preferences, allowing each individual to modify how information is shown to them. Such adaptability not only improves user experience but also greatly increases engagement and satisfaction within the alumni community, ultimately fostering a deeper connection among members. This ongoing evolution ensures that both the organization and its constituents can thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

Poor functionality and user support
Date: Jun 15 2025SummaryTerrible. I hate AlumniMagnet and I would never recommend it. Using Eventbrite or another program would be much easier.
PositiveNone, other than it doesn't require tooth extraction. It also doesn't draw blood. I guess those are good things?
NegativeEverything.

First, creating articles and emails is really difficult. For example, you can't copy an image and paste it into the article or email; you have to go through a complicated process of saving the image first. Further, you can't copy text and paste it elsewhere, keeping the original formatting; the formatting changes when you paste it.
Second, the program simply doesn't work. For example, if you want to copy the formatting of text, if you use a paintbrush icon to do so, it simply doesn't work.
Third, a user can't set up some features, such as accepting RSVPs for events; it's often necessary to involve the school's alumni office. In my case, the school alumni office gets irritated when they are asked to help with Alumni Magnet. So I'm stuck.
Eventbrite and other programs are much simpler to use. Why couldn't AlumniMagnet perhaps be integrated with Microsoft Word or Google Documents so that their ease of use could be a benefit here?
