Clair card is a joke
Date: Nov 13 2024SummaryThey don’t fix the problems and act like they have no idea what’s causing it or what’s even going on.
PositiveNothing.
NegativeI have had so many problems with this company and when you call about it they blame someone else. Now they are withholding my money and acting like they have no clue. They said it should be there in 24 hours and it’s been 24 hours and it’s not there. They don’t even open to speak to someone until 9am. I have never had to call a company so many times about my money. Clair is a joke.

Clair - The banking experience that provides on-demand pay
Date: Sep 05 2023SummaryI think Clair is a solid banking experience choice. It's also the best early wage advance option out there because you can wage advance for $0 fees! It is also evident that Clair is working to improve their product seeing as I've witnessed 5x-6x major app updates that have keep improving the experience for me!
PositiveThe interface is clean! It's so easy to understand, navigate, and look at. It's very pretty to be honest. In addition, the on demand pay feature (when it works) is great! The best part? It's FREE. There have been several times that I was in a pinch for funds and Clair came into clutch for me.
NegativeDespite being a banking experience, there isn't an all encompassing banking stack... like no mobile check deposit, no way to see transaction trends, etc.

I also struggle with the fact that it took 2 whole weeks for the Clair card to arrive. However, after it arrived, I've loved the product!Official Clair Response -

This is a great company
Updated: Jul 19 2023SummaryGreat!! Might take getting used to at first but what Clair has done for people is awesome, a lot of companies use Clair but they don’t promote using it. If the employee knows about it they’d use it!
PositiveClair does exactly what it says it’s going to do. Once signed up at the end of the work shift the employer sends how many hours you worked for that shift. 50% of your earnings will be available to use with the Clair master card. The amount Clair can advance is based on your prior paycheck, in my case my hours are different week to week. When you get paid whatever you have taken In advances is paid back to Clair and the other Portion of your pay will be on the Clair card. Each pay period resets for advances. So if you are paid bi weekly this can make it so you are now paid weekly. You don’t have to use the card if you don’t want to, its there if you need to and I find it easier to have access to my money weekly. I tend to run out of cash after the first week on a bi weekly basis.
NegativeI have no complaints. If anything I think all company payroll systems should join with Clair. If anything it would make employees happier being able to access their money when needed.

Horrible company.
Date: Apr 03 2023SummaryWorst part, they hold your money until you pay them, they don't take it from the money that already there and they don't deduct when you get paid. Don't use this app.
PositiveNothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, I dont like this app its horrible horrilbe, bad do not use ever.
NegativeThey say they don't overdraft but that's not true. Then if there is a balance owed on your account they don't have a way for you to pay them immediately so you can access your funds. Cant pay online, cant transfer from your bank account, cant use cash app or Zelle or Venmo, nothing. They say you have to use greendot but most of those places say they load green dot card but not Clair cards. Inconvenient and ridicules.

Clair review
Updated: Jun 06 2023SummaryStill on hold with customer service, why can’t I access my money, they don’t have that information, why are they reporting a much lower pay rate I receive vs the pay rate their taking. No information again.
PositiveThey say they will advance half your pay. It will advance what they say is half your paycheck but keep the actual half. They hold your pay hostage until you pay them more which after a week they say they didn’t receive. You try to close your account when they have over $400 of your money they won’t let you touch and offer $140 instead. Best they can do is steal a third of your pay. NEVER USE THIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! I was trying to pay rent early, now it’s late yet I earned all the money. Thanks Clair. I’ve warned my entire staff and all new hires. They also claimed they received over $100 less from my last paycheck than ADP shows. They’re full of lies and when calling for a solution they give nonsensical answers, might work on anyone that can’t do basic math. I do think most people notice their monthly income going down over $600 with no change in hours or pay, only change was the epic mistake of using Clair. I will be pursuing legal action. Likely a class action suit. It seems like anyone who has used this has had an identical experience. They need to be shut down! If you ask for statements which they legally have to provide if they actually are a financial institution as they claim, however I was refused such earlier today, against my legal rights.
NegativeEVERYTHING. Can’t seem to stop their direct deposit now. They are paying out at a rate as if I make $6 an hour and are keeping the difference of my actual wage. The half that is direct deposited to them they will claim I only earned 1/3 of. Half of minimum wage is what you’ll keep on half your paycheck. Don’t expect anything but working to support a bogus company than your own family. Most costly service I’ve ever encountered of any kind and they provide no actual service. It has been three weeks and they haven’t even sent my card.

Game changing!
Date: Sep 06 2023SummaryOverall, Clair has allowed me to live more comfortably in between paychecks! From car payments, to rent, to credit card installments.
PositiveGives me control of my paychecks! I can get paid daily and choose to send it to a debit card, bank, etc. Choosing where and when I get paid in-between paychecks is a game changer.
NegativeNothing! Sometimes I will have an overdue balance from taking a day off, sick day, etc- but thanks to built-in functionality I can easily pay it back!

Getting early access to my paycheck
Date: Sep 05 2023SummaryClair allows you to start spending part of your paycheck before payday, then you pay back what you spent when you get paid. I signed up when I started at my new job and there have been several times where I have been able to advance from my next check to make a purchase, then it gets paid back when my paycheck lands in my account. It has been easy thus far.
PositiveThis is the only bank account where I can get access to the money I have already earned before payday! I have been really impressed with how convenient the account has been and being able to get my money when I need it.
NegativeIt can be confusing at first since it's not a typical payday loan- it is a bank account, so you can only advance what you have on your upcoming paycheck. But this makes sense to me since otherwise how would the company get their money back?

Must move direct deposit
Date: May 26 2023SummaryBIG DISLIKE, this is very inconvenient. This is the only company that makes you move your direct deposit to access early funds.
PositiveThe thought of getting paid early but only if you move your direct deposit, which is terribly inconvenient.
NegativeThey make you move your direct deposit to their company instead of your every day bank to be able to access your paycheck early.
