ClubExpress is good for membership and processing of payment.
Date: Aug 23 2022SummaryClubExpress is the most used software in our organization when it comes to registering new members and processing their payments for annual or bi-annual membership fees.
PositiveI like the ability to log on and be able to RSVP to things utilizing the platform. I also like that ClubExpress is now integrated with QuickBooks - great addition. Processing payments is easier, as is keeping track of the membership.
NegativeExporting data is difficult. Tailoring reports can be a bit complicated for non-tech people.

Moved our website from Slow gear to Rapid gear

They do provide webinars and YouTube video tutorials on the changes / new features as well as videos on how to perform basic functions. Their video library and documentation is quite extensive.
PositiveI appreciate that ClubExpress is able to take care of much of our events work on-line with automatic membership signups and renewals, event RSVPs and payments, digital member-only directory, emailing, newsletters, etc. It does it all!
NegativeWebsite initialization and figuring out how to use the website took some of our time but ClubExpress customer / technical support representatives are always available for anyone to get information (club members and leaders).

PositiveWe appreciate that no codes are required to operate ClubExpress. We also like calendar feature for posting events and sending emails on a daily basis.
NegativeWe would like better editing functionality on the calendar postings. We like to make the postings as detailed as possible and the editing is tough. We end up posting many times.

ClubExpress is a good program which needs time investment
Date: Aug 24 2022SummaryClubExpress has been of great assistance. It can keep track of user's progress. Other good thing is that we don't have to involve IT to remove a user from a group email list.
PositiveOnce ClubExpress is setup, it will do everything for you - keep track of people, send newsletters, function as a website. The users can make their own changes to contact info, etc.
NegativeThe learning curve is steep. Setup is time consuming. There are so many modules or past webinars one should watch to become proficient.

Be Wary of ClubExpress
Date: Apr 29 2020SummaryI wouldn't recommend ClubExpress to anyone because of the poor coding techniques used and lack of response from the development team with regards to custom code requests.
PositiveVery configurable, many options exist for the calendar of events. Membership module is powerful and has tightened our organizations' membership count. Offers more capabilities than our org currently use which is a good thing for our growing organization. ClubExpress developed a custom Volunteer Time Search Box which has met our expectations, it's powerful and fast.
NegativeEmailing capabilities not well thought out but we understand how tough it is to design an emailing tool. Emails to full membership get logged in email database but Interest Group and Committee emails aren't. We had bad experiences with custom coding, for example a dropdown menu defined on one screen is defined as a text box on another screen. Couldn't get ClubExpress to provide detailed analysis of customer proposals nor would ClubExpress explain general statements their developers made about those proposals. ClubExpress programmers often would make poor coding decisions. For instance, in our custom time logging app, ClubExpress chose to display time detail entries in oldest to newest order instead of newest to oldest, the most illogical and unusable choice possible, a sign of inexperience. Basic tricks to compress as much data as possible on one line (two (or more) line headers, truncation) weren't used, leaving important info undisplayed. As a customer we have had to pay ClubExpress to fix these bugs. Documentation of ClubExpress system is around 1,000 pages, virtually unusable for non-techies.
