Dump Adobe reader
Date: Feb 19 2021SummaryI have used this to replace Adobe several years ago and love the program. I will not go back to Adobe reader. Foxit does not try to get you to upgrade and there are many more settings to help you personalize your use.
PositiveIt is fast, accurate and does not try to get you to install Norton or McAfee every time it updates. Easy to personalize.
NegativeHaven't been able to find any cons so far. Not one complaint.

Great "light weight" alternative to Adobe
Date: Jun 26 2020SummaryWe looked for pdf reader solutions when Adobe Reader started to suffer from bloat and was a system resource hog. We use Foxit as our default reader and with our small business and personal use, we find it indispensable. We use the installed PDF printer software to save documents as PDFs when the option is available in the software we are using or the browser.
PositiveI love the ability to write on/in PDF forms whether they are forms or not. The ability to add digital signatures is a plus. Foxit reader also lets you redact documents or "cut" out pieces of the document to paste in other documents. The ability to resize comment text to match the existing format has helped us make corrections or changes to existing documents. It works well for filling in pdf forms and will even remember fields that are commonly used to speed filling time.
NegativeThe system always prompts you to save to the "Foxit Cloud" and when you click "Save as" the cursor jumps to the bottom right of the screen.

Great Software but some Printer issues on Linux
Date: Jun 11 2020SummaryFoxit is a very light and fast software. It's GUI is simple and very effective. It's easy to use. Some features include Annotations, Convert to PDF, Digital Signature, Encryption, and Watermarking.
What I really liked was the possibility of opening multiple files in different tabs within the same window.
The major issue I've experienced with Foxit Reader on Linux is related to the Printing options. I wanted to change the default options for my printer (one-sided vs two-sided) but I couldn't find where to do that. All the settings that were set properly in CUPS were simply ignored by Foxit. After discussions with the support people, it appears that it is possible in the Windows and Mac version only but not in the Linux version.PositiveFoxit is a very light and fast software.
