    Summary

As a former host, I would warn others: do not use this company. HelloGuest has failed to provide a transparent, itemized reconciliation of my account despite repeated requests. Outstanding payments, including completed booking income, cleaning fees, and substantial damages by guests, remain unpaid. The company has relied on contradictory and unsupported explanations while refusing to reconcile the account. Use any other company, as you will effectively be paying to have your property rented out: no income was sent to me, and instead, I had to pay for damages, cleaning fees (Helloguest failed to make good on their promise to appoint a cleaner despite multiple requests, and then faulted me for it). I am owed several hundred pounds by Helloguest that have never been paid, as a result of my allowing my flat to be rented by them.
If you are considering letting out a property with them, assume that
they will not even attempt to reimburse you through booking platforms for damages guests cause nor take any other action in this regard
they may or may not find you a cleaner (even though they explicitly promise that they will), and if they don’t, you will have to pay cleaning fees out of pocket, thereby reducing your income
they will not pay you the full amounts due from bookings
they will ignore you or deflect if you attempt to recuperate the sums owed to you that you have paid out of pocket due to their failure to appoint a cleaner and their booking destructive guests*
As a result, note that you may be renting out your property not just for free (with Helloguest profiting from your charitable donation of your property for their business), but also with all costs incurred by you (imagine broken belongings, curtains broken, vomit on linens, etc.) that will never be reimbursed to you and Helloguest will refuse to discuss let alone charge the guests for items they have destroyed. Bear in mind, the positive reviews here are the result of a marketing team focused on generating positive reviews very aggressively rather than dealing with actual customer services, and also note if thinking of joining as an owner, Helloguest profits from the guests, and so they are only interested (if at all) in responding to guest concerns rather than yours. As a result, they can make a cheap profit off of your property at your expense. They have no incentive to ensure that there is fairness in your transactions with guests because they are paid by the guests, not you. As you can see from their posts, they are principally a marketing agency and their only bottom line is money.
*Note that their flex about a comprehensive screening is just marketing talk. If you sign up with them, you will nearly inevitably find the premises damaged and you will have to pay for repairs out of pocket. This occurred to me on numerous occasions.
I will remove this review if HelloGuest provides a full account reconciliation and refunds all amounts due. If the review is still up, they have failed to do so, and therefore, I recommend no other property owners sign up for a service that effectively rents out your property at your own loss of time and money, without any gain, financial or otherwise. Beware as well of the fake reviews.
