Handles mass reimaging and update management well

    Date: Jul 16 2020
    Summary

Really good if you have many Macs to keep up to date in an enterprise setting. You might still need to do some scripting for functionality that isn't too commonly used though.

    Positive

When I was working at one of the national energy laboratories, we used Jamf to help keep all the Mac OS devices' software and operating systems up to date. We didn't like to automatically update to the latest OSes because sometimes the new releases aren't that stable and certain scientific equipment only worked with older versions, but with Jamf that was not an issue.

    Negative

For whatever reason I still needed to code up a custom AppleScript to handle some software customizations that Jamf couldn't, or to get all the serial numbers of certain devices on a specific software version. I assume this was because Jamf couldn't do that easily, but maybe it could and my boss just didn't know better?

    Very User Friendly

    Date: Apr 28 2020
    Summary

JAMF is the best in the business if you ask me. They are pricey but the ease of doing just about anything you need to makes it well worth it if your client has the budget.

    Positive

JAMF had tons of tools to properly secure devices on our network and also make it easier for users when deploying new devices.

    Negative

Expensive is really the only downside but our customer had the money so it was a moot point.
