So the process is never going to be easy. There is no magic software that can perfectly arrange your outrageous degen antics. Koinly's team were there holding my hand as I unwound 3 years worth of mayhem. They were quick to reply and made it POSSIBLE. I honestly had 4/5 enquires running at any given moment, so as not to confuse my questioning. Its a process that takes days/weeks (for me) but there is no other way. Koinly does the vast majority of the transactions, and the support for the remaining is 5 stars. Good Luck

The staff make it possible. Not sure its possible to make the process easier. There are a lot of options when it comes to writing up crypto and to make it comprehensive for new users is difficult.
Keep asking questions to the staff and they will get you there.

I mean I'm sure this stuff will always improve but in reality its never going to be a click of a button. Thats the truth you have to realise. Koinly is the best you're going to get.
They could make more videos on youtube, different scenarios that are common. They do the basics but could release more complex examples.

Great experience, I've used it to do my 2021 tax and was a charm! Going in for 2022 also ! I may never change to another crypto tax app!

PLEASE: Take 2 minutes to read this and you will save hours of searching and stressing for a different crypto tax reporting software. Trust me! (I was in your shoes). I've probably only written a handful of reviews in my life, but Koinly gave me no other choice to boast their incredibility.

Koinly provides state-of-the-art crypto tax software to assist everyone from entry-level crypto investors and tax reporters (as myself) to highly-educated entrepreneurs and crypto-enthusiasts in the process of reporting all your cryptocurrency in accordance with your country's tax laws. From a comprehensive and detailed interface to ease-of-wallet sync via Auto-sync and/or csv reports, to identifying potential errors and providing a well-articulated guide (written and video) to resolve your problems, and lastly to generating your tax report with a variety of different reports available (Complete Tax Report, Schedule 3 [Canada], etc.).

I'll put it to you like this: I find difficulty dealing with my crypto taxes more than the next person, and Koinly alleviated all those worries through a second-to-none customer service support team with an All-Star player in an individual named Alex! A true life-saver.

Alex's cryptocurrency knowledge, interpersonal awareness and empathetic behaviour, in addition to punctuality and proficient articulation of all matters is remarkable to say the least.

I tried different coin trackers. From my point of view Koinly has the best all-round package. Here is a possibility for free to connect Koinly to different wallets and exchanges with automated API and track coins.

The feature to create tax reports I did not used until now, but I will start with it in 2022. The plans are fear.

Koinly supports a lot of different tokens and coins. So far, all my coins are supported.
The transaction overview is one of the best. It is very easy to check, change and handle each transaction.
The build in search function is very good to find specific transactions and to find the full traceability for one or more tokens.

I did not find any Cons so far.

Maybe the design of the page can be improved:
1. so that the informations of buy and sell orders in a chart for a selected token can be showed.
2. so that the information of how many coins can be sold without tax for a selected token can be showed.

I would highly recommend this service to anyone. I tried using a different platform before but then I was confused with something, sent email asking for help but received no replied. So I switched to Koinly, before I even paid for any plan, all my questions were answered and the guy who was dealing (his name is Stanislav) with me even fixed a few errors on my report for me! (that's before I even paid for the service). English is not my first language and sorry for my bad grammar lol.

Koinly is hands-down so much more robust in their features out of the box. I previously used one of the largest cointracking software programs but the interface looks like it was written in the early 2000s. I was confused about several issues I had when I first started using the software. I highly recommend Koinly for anybody looking for crypto tax software and portfolio tracking. Their platform also includes tracking heavy traders that may be doing futures leveraged trading.

The software is very intuitive and easy to connect every wallet you have. If you have any questions, there is a full knowledgebase including videos that provide details. Once you have your wallets connected, you can look at all your transactions, merge transactions that weren't able to automatically merge, and see your entire portfolio of deposits, withdrawals, trades, and gains/losses.

User forum is still growing and may not be enough technical support yet to hop over there and help answer some basic questions. However, I must admit I contacted Koinly and they jumped right in to help completely resolve my confusion.

Pricing is another heavy discussion item. In order to have Koinly produce tax reports, you do need to pay for each year. This is something that can be considered toward working on a better way to pay for the service. However, the features provided from the suite far exceeds other providers.

These guys are so proactive, i tried 3 other crypto tax companies before Koinly and all 3 were a nightmare.
The Koinly guys reply to every email (and I've sent literally hundreds) within 24 hours at most.
They have helped me in so many ways... I am not tech savvy and they are so patient with me.
Their software is pretty easy to use even though i am not tech savvy.

They are patient with me even when i don't understand something.

No limit on how many questions or emails i ask / send.

Sometimes software could be easier, but they always updating and making easier.

I had straightforward honest responses to all my enquiries. Everyone was willing to listen, to try to understand my problems, to explain and to action what was in my best interests. I received apologies for not truly understanding what I meant. I felt everyone cared about doing their job well and they also truly cared about the people with whom they were interacting. Thank you. I had very positive interaction with Koinly staff.
Yana and Karim are worth gold. Staff every company should have. I knew once I was talking with them that they would find a way to help me. Yana took me so many helpful steps and then I got moved on to Karim who was amazing.

I didn't like the time difference between Australia and USA. But there's nothing I can do about that. I always knew Koinly support would get back to me and would always take me another step forwards towards the best possible result. Thank you again.
It took some considerable time being the first time, but it was time well spent with helpful people.

It took a lot of work getting transactions in order. Not as simple as syncing exchanges and importing CSVs to be ship shape however once you are setup you realize what a life saver Koinly is. Once you are familiar with the interface and options (which doesn't take long), it becomes a breeze.
Of course there will always be occasional issues but Koinly support understanding and patient, ensuring they get your issues resolved in a timely manner.
I tested 2 or 3 similar solutions and I found Koinly the best.

The dashboard breakdown view doesn't have an option to select Tax year dates.
Auto Sync does not seem to work. You will need to click Sync manually.
Koinly can't sync some chains so you will need to add transactions manually.

Overall, I'm happy with Koinly. It's reassuring that there are regular updates to the software. And, suggestions by users are often acknowledged by Support and considered for future implementation to make the software more competitive.

Nice interface, especially Transactions section, and easy to use (nice API integration for many wallets, merging of transactions, soft deletes, error checking). Competitive pricing. Ongoing updates to add new wallets and services. Accurate token price feeds and tax calculations. Good support and many useful Tax Reports.

Missing 2FA for logging in. Lacks features on dashboard to show holding values/costs for previous periods of time (i.e. past tax years). Inability to lock/unlock past tax year data to safeguard prior years tax calculations. Some Tax Reports could use more details relating to individual wallets.

Highly recommend this software provided by Koinly. Especially if it complies with your income tax laws of your country. Some people believe they do not need to report and think they can freely trade in crypto with thinking about tax. This is very much not the case. You need to be using something to manage your trades and holdings. Koinly is great for me.

The system is user friendly. Peace of mind that it complies with my countries tax system. The data is clear if you take the time to read it. The videos support and guides are numerous however you do need to work at getting it right yourself and learn the technical language. The customer support I have received has been excellent, and I do mean excellent. They take the time to understand your issue and from time to time rectify it for you if you are struggling. The good thing about that is you are learning as you go and need less help over time. There is also an option to pay someone to go over your profile in detail. Love the tool so far using it for 2 years. My tax account loves it too as it makes their task so much easier.

I do not have any at this point. Maybe it is due to my relief that my tax liability is being tracked.

Portfolio tracking at is finest. The support team is great. Once we get the daily updates / notification functionality added it will be pretty complete.

It's been great. Taxes in this space are misunderstood and tricky. This tool makes it possible to deal with it and I feel confident I'll have what I need for the tax season.

Only tool to handle all my needs. Meaning all my transaction types (mining, gifts, buy and hold, sell, converts, etc.)

Handled every wallet, and exchange I use, as well as every coin I have dealt with this year.

Most importantly, service is spot on. A refreshing change from others out there. Every question I had was answered in a timely fashion, provided the right answers with backing material as needed, etc. Others need to take note!!

This is a nit, but I wish there was a desktop tool. I don't like having this data in the cloud. It's a con, but not enough to have me stop using it, as there is no one that comes close at this time.

Technical support is truly the added value. I've needed it twice and they were always quick and kind in coming up with a solution!
