PositiveEverything you need is included, no extra modules to purchase to achieve a bare minimum system. Support is great and if you can't figure out settings for your eCom store, they'll set it up for you.
NegativeMost of my issues are more related to it operating differently than my old system. Didn't used to allow negative inventory, but that's been fixed.

Comprehensive solution that keeps getting better

Ultimately there are some things it would be nice to change, like the ability to make front-end modifications, customizing user roles, and customizing the way some reports display, but that would just be the icing on the cake.
PositiveAdvanced features and capabilities, responsive customer service, cloud based back-end management, constantly improving.
NegativeNeed to sign in to the back end to add products (in other words you can't add stuff on the fly). also if you're using a lite server there is a bit of a lag when updating or adding new items. inventory management is not a one-and-done solution, but it helps.

They make you either wait for your information or must pay extra for your own data. In today's world, information is everything. I'm very satisfied with Lightspeed for my shop.
PositiveLightspeed is easy to use and easy setup. It a very cost-effective system as I looked at multiple system. They have added on options that help with online order (which I have not activated yet, but I plan to). I'm in the customer service business and having the ability to call George has been a great asset when starting a business. He's made all the difference in the world having Lightspeed.
NegativeI would like to be able to customize live reports. Ex. compare hour by hour from last week to this week. Or be able to compare trends from week to week on sale and customer volume.

When covid hit things were slow and they called me with a solution to a lot of things that would drive people to my online store. They are more than a POS.
PositiveI really like how they are always integrating with new products and brands. Just like us, staying up to date with other companies. Their customer service is unmatched.
NegativeIt is a little bit more expensive, but worth it because their customer service is really knocked out of the park.

The analytics add-on has helped us with forecasting and identifying areas of opportunity so that we can effectively strategize.
PositiveThe constant development of this product and its add-on modules and API integrated affiliates is one of the reasons I switched to this software. 24/7 customer service has been a big help when a question comes up afterhours during a data upload or other product that is best completed off-hours.
NegativeThere are still some work-arounds. I would love to see a better system for Purchase Order backorders as well as the ability to implement recurring billing for customers.

Great POS System!
Date: May 20 2021SummaryWe're FootWorks Running, a small locally owned running specialty store in Miami, FL. We switched to Lightspeed about 3 years ago. We looked into RICS and LS and chose LS. We're very happy with the platform and their support staff. I also recommend using Lightspeed Payments. We just switched from Cayan Genius/TSYS/First Data. Our credit card processing is much better now, integrated, and we're not calling 3 different companies for help.
PositiveEasy to use. Most of the staff can figure things out intuitively.
Great support staff. Easy to reach via phone or chat.NegativeCan't return an item and mark as defective so it is not added back into inventory. This means the item shows in stock until our inventory manager is able to create a vendor return to remove it from inventory.

It's easy for me and easy for my staff -- who really are not comfortable doing much on computers -- to learn and to use. The more you play around with the software the better, of course, you become at using it and seeing all the ways it can help your business.
PositiveIt's simple to learn and to use. I love the integration between my brick and mortar store and my online store. The reporting is very good and I always know exactly how my business is doing compared to any other time period. I needed a lot of help at first and it was always available and the staff were very patient to teach me everything I needed to know to get up and running.
NegativeI'd like the Loyalty Program to be more advanced, technologically speaking. I'd like to add photos to my texts. The texting program really brings in customers and makes a big difference. I get pushed a bit too much by sales staff to spend more before I really need to.

PositiveThe inventory tracking, the invoicing, Quickbooks integration, time clock, rewards program, and the list goes on of all the awesome features! The customer service is top notch, they are always able to help if you have a question or an issue to resolve (which there are not a lot of issues!!).
