What is Normfluss?
Normfluss is a specialized platform aimed at improving the accessibility of documents by evaluating, rectifying, and confirming the compliance of PDF files. It offers a free assessment that measures a PDF's adherence to the PDF/UA-1 standards, alongside the pertinent sections of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2, and generates a comprehensive report detailing which criteria are satisfied and which are lacking. Upon choosing remediation, Normfluss takes care of issues that can be rectified automatically, while also guiding a human reviewer through more subjective elements such as image descriptions and reading order, ultimately producing a cryptographically signed record that outlines what has been tested and what remains non-compliant. The platform ensures that no document will be considered conformant unless both machine-checkable elements are satisfactory and all human-evaluated criteria have been confirmed. All operations are carried out on infrastructure based in the EU, using self-hosted models to guarantee that documents are not sent to any outside AI services.
