We didn't have the time, money, or resources to keep this running internally, so to have a team that took these utility billing responsibilities off our plate was a real help. Also, since we didn't want to eliminate any of our existing positions or reduce our staff, a few of our teammates moved into better positions and two were able to retire, simply because we choose to have Opus21 and their team take care of our utility billing needs.
PositiveI really like how the Opus21 team customized the system for our utility billing needs for our municipality. It was absolutely the right decision to outsource our utility billing to Opus21 since our workforce has been shrinking due to retirement and we don't have the resources to hire, train, and support new full-time employees. We found that we were able to replace our antiquated utility billing software process and eliminate the redundancies that were costing us both time and money. The greatest part of working with Opus was that they not only offered support and a team of utility billing experts but it allowed us to be hands off and focus on other aspects of our neighborhood.
NegativeIt was a longer setup process than we anticipated, but in all honesty, our utility billing system was complicated and needed extra customization that Opus handled very well. For the most part, the transition to their utility billing management system was smooth.
