What is QR.io?
With QR.io, users can track the number of scans on their QR Codes, gaining insights into the location and timing of each scan. Furthermore, those with no coding experience can easily create customized landing pages for their QR Codes, which makes the tool user-friendly for everyone. Although both types of QR Codes fulfill a similar function, they vary greatly in their capabilities for updates, statistics, and tracking. Dynamic QR Codes allow users to design a landing page that can be adjusted even after the QR Code has been released, ensuring ongoing relevance. Additionally, they offer essential scan data that reveals user engagement metrics, including the volume of scans, geographical locations, and timestamps. This feature is especially beneficial for business owners across diverse industries such as restaurants, fitness centers, retail shops, as well as for artists and influencers who may not possess technical expertise. Conversely, Static QR Codes do not offer the same adaptability and lack the ability to provide analytical data about scan activity. Therefore, deciding between Dynamic and Static QR Codes can play a crucial role in enhancing your interaction with your target audience, ultimately influencing the effectiveness of your marketing strategies. This distinction highlights the importance of selecting the right type of QR Code for your specific needs.

It is not free after 7 days
Date: Dec 04 2023SummaryThey do not disclose upfront that the fee will be $35 per month minimum after 7 days. This is ridiculously overpriced.
PositiveThis website made it very easy to create the QR codes, change their color, modify them and save them.
Negative$35/month for QR codes is obscenely overpriced. I will pay the fee for the moment as I've had marketing already created but will be switching to a different company.

Deceitful practice
Date: Aug 10 2023SummaryI tried it once. Printed out codes for selling my products but then a little while later got an email that for them to work I need to subscribe. This was very much new information to me. Sure it may have been hidden somewhere on the site but it wasn't exactly clearly projected. I try to run a small business and I lost money because of this deceitful "service".
PositiveBy principle nothing. If the service was how they sold it, I would say the site was ok to use but I won't since I do not care for essentially making people panic subscribe once they've realized their mistake.
NegativeThey hide the fact that instead of "free" it's a "free TRIAL".

Swing and a miss
Date: Oct 02 2023SummaryNow instead I'm just annoyed and super dissatisfied as this was the headache of this morning.
Here guys behind QR.io - have some of this complaining, you well earned it.
Gonna leave some more reviews all over to have others avoid making the same mistake (:
Don't use this service.PositiveNot sure.
They totally got me.
Hard these days to be on point with every detail and these guys really got me good in a flow of many many events, putting some lovely extra problems in this day.NegativeDon't use or associate with this app.

Wow.
Some not so free software.
They really need to super over clarify the expensive costs involved.
In the creation of new business there are an enormous amount of detail to register all over the workflow.
I missed this detail.
Spent 100 dollars on marketing the past week that is now out there in print.
That was apparently the free trial before they wanted 35bucks per month...
For that one QR code now on posters and business cards.
I'm sure I'll manage to get that simple service for free elsewhere now.
That unfortunately having missed this detail, as mentioned they do need to over clarify and not market so widely as something free, if they want to avoid really dissatisfied, (potential) customers.
Had i been able to pay say 1/10th, 3.5usd per month to just have that one QR code i made with their service running for a few months now as its in prints... would be worth it. -

Horrible product
Date: Dec 14 2023SummaryCancelled subscription because I couldn't use the QR code I created and inquired about a refund because I wasn't using said membership. They asked for proof of payment, which I sent, and then ghosted me. Can't seem to get through to anyone, although Carolina was the rep that originally contacted me about sending proof of payment. DO NOT TRUST. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.
PositiveI have nothing good to say about this product. This is a scam website. Do not trust anything on their website.
NegativeSuck you in with a "free" code, only to make you pay $35/month after "trial" ends. I paid the $35 but then couldn't access my original code, so my original QR code was useless (of course I'd already printed on cards & such.)

BEWARE!
Date: Apr 09 2023SummaryExtremely disappointed. If the fee was lower - say 35 dollars a year for a few QR codes - I might pay it, but 35 dollars a month to have one QR code is absolutely awful.
PositiveQR generation and UI were easy to understand. Too easy. I really do not have much else to say here and am struggling to find any 'pros'.
NegativeBEWARE! As mentioned by other reviewers, QR.IO is not very transparent that what you are creating is contingent on a free trial. Months ago, they made this even less apparent. 35 dollars a month for one QR code is extremely steep, especially when your QR code is out in the field already and being scanned. This feels like a bait and switch. If you explore further, there are plenty of other sites which offer free QR codes that never expire.

Misleading
Date: Nov 20 2023SummaryAvoid unless you want to subscribe for whatever features they may offer that can be got for free elsewhere (didn't see any) if you are OK with over $30 a month.
PositiveThe features are similar to other apps that allow you to create QR codes of different styles with some control over color and adding a logo. There are other additional features and type of additional hosted uses available.
NegativeThe "free" functionality states it is unlimited and suggests that a QR code created that way would work indefinitely. However, behind the scenes the link you specify if trying to create a code that takes you to a static URL, is actually re-directed first so that it will expire in a few days and require you to pay to re-activate. There are plenty of free apps to create QRs with the same features as far as aesthetics.

Ripoff
Date: Oct 12 2023SummaryA waste of time. Another company set up to gouge users.Comes up number 1 in a google search for QR code generators.
PositiveEasy to use. Can make a QR code quickly and get an image that is printable. Gets you in. Good scam technique actually.
NegativeThey collect your personal data, let you make a QR code that links to an online contact/business card which lasts for one week. Then they ask you pay USD $35 per month to keep that going. Are you serious!!!!. You would actually earn more money of you made it $2/month.

Scam
Date: Jun 13 2023SummaryHorrible unethical practices, had hundreds of business cards with a useless QR code.
PositiveThere are no pros, this company is a complete scam. The QR codes get "paused" and become useless.
NegativeThis is a complete scam, the QR code gets "paused" unless you pay $35/month or $350/year and is completely useless.

Very scammy operation
Date: Dec 10 2023SummaryI am super bummed. I can't use this code--I can't afford to print another code. This was a real bummer.
PositiveThe whole front end is a very quick simple way to make and customize a QR code. Very easy, plug and play, and gave you a few minimal options to customize the code.
NegativeI didn't realize I needed to create an account for this ONE code to work until I already printed the code. I tested it MULTIPLE times before sending it to the printer. I would have been happy to pay for just this one code, but if I want this code to work, I have to pay $35 a month for an account I absolutely don't need. I made this QR code as part of a Christmas gift. There needed to be more transparency at the front end before wasting people's time making the code so easy to create.

Scam. Won’t even let me access my account to cancel.
Date: Jul 10 2022SummaryTHEY HAVEN'T LET ME ACCESS MY ACCOUNT EVER SO I CANT EVEN CANCEL. I signed up in April to make QR codes for my wedding. Was suppose to be free. Turns out after 7 days it’s $35/month. They don’t tell you this though hoping you already used their QR code and will just pay the money. Since I already had my wedding invites printed on acrylic it would be too expensive to redo. Fell for the trap. The next scam is they never sent me a email confirmation of my account. There’s no phone number to call, their 24/7 chat is fake it just redirects you to email, and they never respond back to email :))) every time I log in it says it sent something to my email and I can click the link to log in. Never comes. Even check spam. Emailed every week for 4 months no response but they sent me a survey to take because I’m a valued customer?? Do not use this company. They’ll take your money and ignore you. Trying to dispute through my bank since you can’t even report them to the BBB since they’re based in a country out of the US.
PositiveCute ways to make a QR code but not worth $35/month. Honestly don’t know any other pros. Don’t use this company.
NegativeClaim to be free but after 7 days will lock your QR code for $35/month AFTER you’ve already used it and printed everything you needed.

NOT free Requires $35/mth to unlock
Date: Oct 25 2022SummaryStay away from this QR code business, the free account locks after 7 days. It’s not worth paying 35/mth when other QR code businesses are so much cheaper.
PositiveDeactivates your QR code/s after 7 days and wants $35/mth or $350/yr to unlock codes.
This is bad business, hopefully they go broke or allow pricing that is affordable. $35/mth for a QR is a rip off.NegativeThe free QR code account locks after 7 days.
