PositiveI really liked how when doing party schedules, the system itself divided up the pizzas, locations, child names, and starting times without me having to click on every individual party.

Rigid and riddled with Bugs

Constant issues with blocked of capacity appearing in different times and places than that they were applied for. Roller support has witnessed but a fix has not been forthcoming for months.
Inadequate flexibility for slots for events. Custom bookings for corporates requiring alternative timings is a logistical fight and no easy way exists to do so.
As an escape room company, the control of staff assigned to bookings is wholly inadequate. Pur scheduling managers lose days every week just upkeeping the system to prevent roller from selling slots we can't staff.
Reporting too rigid, allowing only for preset reports of which none suit my needs.
Booking overviews always require clicking into to see basic information.
Support generally unhelpful and no resolutions.
Functionality is limited.

Date: Mar 07 2024SummaryI think it is a good system, but definitely has some areas that it could improve on, it is a good system for a busy environment with lots of customers.
PositiveFrom a managing standpoint, the Roller POS system runs very smoothly and efficiently compared to past systems I have used. Everything is clearly laid out, easy to learn, and makes some of the management processes a lot faster. From scheduling complicated bookings to checking them out, the process is simple. I am able to find memberships, and customers, and even reprint old receipts.
NegativeOne of the main things I don't like about the system is how it is set up with memberships at my current workplace. We at times have multiple members within the same family checking in at a time, but because of the system, I can only check in one booking holder at a time. With Families with complicated last names, I often have to ask multiple times how to spell the name of each kid, which can get frustrating for families with 3-5 kids. I can tell that the parents get slightly annoyed as I continually ask. At times this feature can make checking in members slow than checking in those without a membership.

NegativeUser interface could use some improvements on both the customer-facing side and business management side to make it more intuitive to use. The learning curve exists to navigate all the menus and labels. Also the ability to view the account on a mobile device is almost impossible. Need a native app or better mobile web support to do tasks, which are often on the go.

PositiveWe had another service that we used, it didn't meet our needs.
We reached out to Roller and it has been to use. The user end, both customer and staff is extremely easy to use. Creating products, online ecommerce and scheduling has been great. Our guests compliment how easy to use it is, and how much faster our processes have become. We really liked the 'playground' to test our products at the POS and e-commerce. It made implementing and using the product more efficient and showed us where some of our flaws were. We were able to correct those prior to going live.NegativeSome of the work arounds we had to come up with to make things easier or do what we needed. We would also like to see a 'bar tab' type feature.

PositiveThe functionality, easy of use and suitability is perfect for a leisure centre. It easily allows for management of products, resources and allows for full sales and products to be instantly generated and sent to an email automatically. The stock control we have been able to link with our suppliers allowing for an automatic re ordering system.

I think some user friendly updates or easier ways to view some pages would be awesome but otherwise, capable of doing most things. It would be awesome, if you were able to view the daily bookings calendar on the POS machine so staff knew what was coming up for the day without having a print out. But do enjoy using the system.
PositiveUser friendly booking system, good reports and updating prices etc is also easy. Good processes can be created from using the POS and app.
NegativeNotes don't attach to receipt/booking from POS to App. Ie, when taking a misc amount, you usually need to add a note, we enter invoice numbers for large payments, these don't always print on the receipt but also don't show in the app when checking records etc.

Calendar set up, doesn't allow bookings on either side of a booking to open up. IE we have slots every hour from 10am - 5pm. If a booking is made for 12pm we prefer that the 11am and 1pm slots were left open and the other slots were closed out until the 11am and 1pm slots received a booking. PositiveRoller is very simple to use. I have used multiple pos systems and Roller is by far my favorite. Cashing tills in and out is a breeze with the amount calculator tool. The ability to attach photos to items and passes also makes it very easy to navigate and ring up a sale. We use Roller at the trampoline park that I help manage and it makes checking in customers/ members very simple and fast. I also love that the designated wristband color for each pass can be displayed on the screen. Overall I definitely recommend roller, especially to businesses that offer memberships.
NegativeI cannot think of any major cons of roller. Roller is definitely very unique in the world of pos applications and may take some time to get used to when transferring from a different pos system. However Roller has many training videos and booklets to make learning and navigating their system a breeze.

PositiveThe company I work for sees a high amount of traffic & Roller consistently helps us tremendously with interacting with such a large customer base on a day to day basis. It is user friendly and easy to run various reports for pretty much anything you can imagine. If there is anything a team member of mine or I don’t understand how to do, they even offer quick how to videos. My favorite thing so far has been the collaboration between the company I work for and Roller. There have been features or reports that we expressed would help us even more, and Roller has worked side by side with us and created them!
NegativeI’m so grateful you created the wristband option. I would absolutely love an option to assign a specific time to a wristband color. Right now, it seems that it only goes off the order of the colors you select & your hours of operation. However, we have different jump options (for example 3 hours) that we still need to adjust manually in person since the software will tell us the incorrect wristband color to hand out. It would make it a lot easier for some other team members, especially new team members that we are training at the front desk.
