What is Recap?

Working out UK crypto tax means applying HMRC's matching rules in the right order, and that is what Recap was built to do. It is UK-built software that takes your exchange, wallet and blockchain activity (connected directly or imported by CSV), values everything in pounds and produces your Capital Gains Tax and income figures. Same-day matching, the 30-day bed and breakfast rule and Section 104 pooling are handled in statutory order, with the workings shown per disposal.

Privacy is the other half of the design. Transactions are encrypted on your own device with AES-256 before anything is sent, and only you hold the keys.

Stocks and shares CGT runs on the same engine, so a mixed portfolio comes out on one report. Connecting accounts and viewing your position costs nothing; paid plans start at £119 a year, cover every tax year and include accountant sharing.

    Summary

    As mentioned I have been using Recap.io for many years now. In fact its the only tool Ive ever used to manage all my crypto particularly for tax purposes but also helps me track all my crypto from the very beginning.
    It is user friendly and when I do have any queries the Customer Support team have always been very helpful at helping with any resolutions. This is also the reason why I don't need to go anywhere else as happy with the overall use and care received thus far.
    I would recommend Recap.io to anyone in crypto looking for a tool that efficiently tracks their crypto & produces the relevant tax reporting.
