What is Tavus?
Tavus is an AI research lab and human computing platform focused on building PALs, a new type of human-like AI application that can see, hear, act, and emotionally understand people in real time. The platform is designed to make interacting with computers feel more like talking to a coworker, teammate, guide, or friend. Tavus PALs can support use cases such as learning and development, HR onboarding, meeting assistance, go-to-market engagement, customer support, and patient intake. The Developer API helps teams build real-time interactive PAL conversations by combining perception, understanding, voice, and rendering. Enterprise Solutions provide bespoke, managed PAL deployments built around a customer’s workflow, integrations, reliability needs, and production scale. PAL Maker gives users a no-code way to create and deploy a PAL into a website or app from a simple prompt or conversation with Charlie. Tavus also builds foundational models for human computing, including Phoenix for realistic human rendering, Raven for real-time multimodal perception, and Sparrow for low-latency conversational flow. Phoenix gives AI a face, presence, emotional range, expressions, and movement in real time. Raven helps machines interpret facial expressions, tone, gaze, emotion, and environmental context. Sparrow helps AI understand turn-taking, pauses, filler words, intonation, and conversational timing so interactions feel more natural. By combining human rendering, multimodal perception, voice, emotional intelligence, turn-taking, no-code tools, APIs, and managed enterprise deployment, Tavus helps organizations create AI agents that feel more present, useful, and human.
