What is Torus?

Mainstream users can effortlessly enter the decentralized ecosystem by utilizing OAuth logins from well-known platforms like Google and Facebook. The generation of users' keys is accomplished through a decentralized technique involving a network of nodes and Multi-Party Computing (MPC), with the keys being reconstructed only after the user successfully authenticates on the client side. The distributed key generation framework that Torus employs operates on the Ethereum Smart Contract layer, allowing users to access decentralized applications (DApps) with the ease of one-click logins from services such as Google, Facebook, Reddit, Discord, and Twitch. Additionally, our public key name resolver facilitates the direct transfer of tokens to any Google, Discord, or Reddit account, regardless of their previous interactions with Torus. Furthermore, users have the ability to purchase cryptocurrencies using credit cards or wire transfers through our reliable partners, who offer global support at competitive prices. This process requires no registrations, downloads, or installations, as our web-native wallet integrates flawlessly with your DApp, providing an experience that is both smooth and user-friendly. By simplifying access to blockchain technology, we not only broaden participation but also foster a deeper engagement with the digital economy among a wider audience. This approach ultimately cultivates a more inclusive environment for users to explore innovative financial solutions.

    Don't use this wallet

    Date: Mar 28 2024
    Summary

Previously there were staff that were helpful. I guess now profitability is not the goal. To ignore like this is completely rude & ignorant. Very poor. Very disappointing.

    Positive

None if you were to make comparisons with other wallets available. This is a totally barebones wallet.

    Negative

Not much to like about it as it is very limited & not that easy to understand.. Definitely do not touch this if you are a newbie. The current crop of support seem totally disinterested & if I was the employer paying then I would retire the lot. Maybe support is free. I waited for around 2.5 hours, my messages had been read & ignored. The was between 17.30 & 20.00 utc-13 March 28 2024.

    Horrible experience

    Date: Jan 06 2023
    Summary

The support sucks, it probably isn't that hard if someone could just show me what to do.

    Positive

First I'm not computer savvy, I bought 2 Trump cards 3 weeks ago, and my Trump cards are still in my email, simply because I don't have a clue about Torus wallet. I can view my wallet, but that's it, The help instructions is like trying to learn the Greek language. I have many times tried to find help using the torus support chat line. I always get the same guy, and all he does is send me their standard instructions, he is freaking no help at all. I need help, and still I get none. I am beside myself and don't know where to turn.

    Negative

My cards are still in my email, and I'm extremely frustrated.

OpenLogin causes problems, and cryptos have to be registered manually

    Date: Dec 21 2021
    Summary

Very complicated, expensive transactions and hard to use. I don't trust it at all and won't use it anymore. Unfortunately, I lost some cryptos, which I can't find anymore, and some spent some transaction fees to get cryptos back to Coinbase.

    Positive

I don't like anything about Torus wallet. The supposedly comfortable OpenLogin is a disaster, as it created several accounts.

    Negative

OpenLogin created several accounts and I cannot determine which one is to use. Complicated transfer via third party services. Cryptocurrencies have to be registered manually with contract addresses.
