What is Agent Payments Protocol (AP2)?

Google has launched the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), a collaborative and open protocol co-developed with over 60 varied companies in the realms of payments, fintech, and technology, including major players like Mastercard, PayPal, Adyen, Coinbase, and Etsy, with the purpose of enabling secure transactions conducted by agents across multiple platforms. This innovative protocol expands upon earlier open standards such as Agent2Agent (A2A) and the Model Context Protocol (MCP), ensuring that when an AI agent handles a payment on behalf of a user, it meets three critical standards: authorization, confirming the user's explicit consent for the transaction; authenticity, ensuring that the agent's intended purchase matches the user's true intent; and accountability, which preserves clear audit trails and assigns responsibility for any mistakes or fraudulent activities. To maintain these rigorous standards, the protocol integrates mandates, which are cryptographically signed digital agreements backed by verifiable credentials, thus bolstering security and fostering trust in agent-driven transactions. By introducing AP2, Google aims to make a notable leap forward in the digital payments landscape, striving to boost users' confidence in their automated financial dealings. This initiative not only enhances transaction security but also positions Google as a leader in redefining how digital payments are processed in an increasingly automated world.

What is AIVM Brain?

AIVM Brain functions as a secure and accountable AI knowledge-sharing platform that is employed by employees in tandem with AI agents within a corporation. It seamlessly integrates with various existing applications, including Slack, Google Drive, Notion, GitHub, Box, Confluence, Salesforce, and Telegram, while preserving the original permissions from each source, thereby allowing users and agents to access only the information they are entitled to view. All access to data is carefully documented in a secure, content-agnostic audit trail that verifies who accessed what information without storing the actual content; this log can be independently verified by auditors. Agents engage with Brain via a monitored MCP endpoint, which includes mandates, human oversight, and a fail-safe kill switch for emergencies. The platform is model-agnostic, accommodating AI models such as Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini, as well as customer-specific models through a bring-your-own-key approach, ensuring that no customer data is utilized for training purposes. Its enterprise features include single sign-on (SSO), tenant isolation, real-time permission revocation, and adherence to SOC 2 and ISO 42001 compliance standards. Offered as a software-as-a-service solution, AIVM Brain provides multiple access methods—including hosted SaaS, MCP, SDK, REST API, and CLI options—to cater to diverse enterprise requirements. With its advanced security protocols and compliance measures, it stands out as a trustworthy solution for organizations eager to responsibly harness AI technology for their operations. As businesses increasingly prioritize data security and ethical AI usage, AIVM Brain positions itself as an essential tool in navigating these demands effectively.
