What is IBM Operational Decision Manager?

A comprehensive decision automation platform facilitates the identification, capture, analysis, automation, and governance of rules-based business decisions, whether utilized on-premises or in the cloud. This innovative solution lays out a straightforward path toward effective digital decision-making and intelligent automation. Users can conveniently manage a variety of tasks including discovery, updates, testing, simulations, and deployment without any coding knowledge. The option for on-premises or cloud deployment significantly enhances its versatility. By implementing no-code decision modeling, business users are empowered to express their decision-making processes, craft prototypes, and conduct tests prior to launch. The integrated testing and simulation capabilities allow for validation of business logic against specific use cases and key performance indicators. Furthermore, the platform includes a Cloud Express version designed specifically for organizations needing simpler applications with lower transaction volumes, thus broadening its accessibility for businesses aiming to optimize their decision-making frameworks. This solution ultimately bridges the divide between technical and non-technical users, promoting collaboration and driving innovation across various teams, resulting in improved efficiency and productivity in the long run.

What is Antaeus?

Antaeus acts as a semantic policy engine aimed at developers focused on evaluating human-written rules concerning language, context, intent, or exceptions. The engine is built on an open-source core using Go and includes a command-line interface capable of loading policy artifacts in either YAML or JSON formats, validating them against versioned schemas while carrying out named regression tests. Through this evaluation process, it produces definitive results such as allow, review, deny, or failure, along with the identification of the policy and supporting evidence for the decisions rendered, while delegating the tasks of authentication, authorization, and subsequent actions to the application itself. Developers have the flexibility to run a deterministic, credential-free local workflow or take advantage of an experimental hosted dashboard and API for managing policies and assessing various inputs. Additionally, an experimental OpenAI evaluator is also available for testing purposes. It is essential to keep in mind that Antaeus is still in its developmental phase; therefore, the capacity of the hosted service is somewhat constrained and lacks a production-level service level agreement (SLA), which may lead to reliability issues when demand is high. As such, potential users should consider these limitations when integrating Antaeus into their workflows.
