What is LayerZero?

LayerZero is a groundbreaking protocol designed for omnichain interoperability that streamlines the process of sending messages across diverse blockchain networks. By ensuring both dependable and authentic message transmission, this protocol allows users to customize their level of trustlessness. It functions through a network of economical and immutable smart contracts. When a User Application (UA) starts a message transfer from one blockchain (chain A) to another (chain B), the journey begins at a designated endpoint on chain A. At this point, the system notifies the relevant Oracle and Relayer about the message and its target destination. The Oracle then takes on the responsibility of transmitting the block header to the corresponding endpoint on chain B, while the Relayer submits the required transaction proof. After this proof is validated on the receiving chain, the message is routed to its ultimate address. This efficient collaboration among the system's various components highlights the protocol's capability for reliable cross-chain communication, making it a vital tool in the evolving landscape of blockchain technology. Such advancements pave the way for more interconnected blockchain ecosystems, enhancing overall user experience and functionality.

What is Across Protocol?

A groundbreaking approach to cross-chain interactions that effortlessly links users to various applications has emerged. This innovation offers end-users access to the quickest and most economical bridging options, while developers enjoy a more efficient interoperability process. Cross-chain Intents serve as both a limit order and an action to be performed, effectively substituting explicit steps with desired user outcomes. This shift enables relayers to compete for optimal execution paths, enhancing efficiency. In contrast to intricate trusted messaging frameworks, Across facilitates connections between users and dapps via intents, rather than merely bridging different blockchains. For developers, incorporating a standard action into protocol operations is all that is required to deliver fluid experiences across multiple chains. Ultimately, this new model not only simplifies user interactions but also fosters innovation in the development of cross-chain applications.
