What is LightCraft?

LightCraft is an open-source library and RAW editor designed specifically for photographers who wish to manage and enhance their images locally. This software provides users with the ability to organize their photos into albums and folders while offering a variety of features such as ratings, flags, metadata searching, sorting, and duplicate detection. With non-destructive editing capabilities, users can adjust exposure, tone, and color, crop images, modify geometry, apply presets, convert to black and white, and utilize local masks for detailed enhancement. Supporting numerous camera RAW formats as well as standard image types, it allows for exports in formats like JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, and DNG. Users can effortlessly compare edits, synchronize settings across selected images, and create contact sheets for their projects. LightCraft is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems, in addition to offering a self-hosted WebAssembly build. Furthermore, it includes a command-line interface, a JSON control channel, and an MCP server to enhance automation features. Importantly, all data managed by the library is stored locally, removing the necessity for user accounts or cloud services, which guarantees complete data privacy and control while providing a seamless editing experience. This commitment to local data storage allows photographers to work confidently without the fear of losing their images or personal information to external servers.

What is Light Studio?

Light Studio is a powerful desktop application tailored for photographers and creators, allowing for effective management and editing of image collections. The software offers the capability to directly open Lightroom Classic catalogs or convert them into its unique Light catalogs, while also integrating seamlessly with Lightroom presets and XMP sidecars. Users can easily navigate through their images by date, folder, or album, perform photo searches, organize faces, manage keywords, and edit metadata, along with the convenience of batch-renaming files. Its editing features are robust, encompassing adjustments for exposure, color, curves, grading, detail, optics, and cropping, along with specialized tools for HDR and panorama merges. Furthermore, users can enhance their images with local masks, denoise, super resolution, and cloning tools for more refined results. Notably, it supports compatible video files, enabling users to store and manage their videos alongside photographs. For those requiring advanced retouching, images can be sent to Photon Studio for further editing and easily retrieved back into the library. The system is designed to ensure that all libraries, edits, face groups, search indexes, and local AI processing remain securely on the user's computer, enhancing privacy and control. Light Studio is expected to be compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux platforms soon, providing a comprehensive solution for photographers aiming to streamline their creative workflows while maintaining high-quality output. By integrating these features, the software is poised to become an essential tool in the photography community.
