What is OpenGMB?

OpenGMB provides an all-encompassing platform designed for small enterprises and marketing firms to adeptly handle their Google Business Profiles. By leveraging Google's official Business Profile API, it amalgamates reviews and responses, scheduled postings, profile updates, health evaluations, performance metrics, and client approvals into a unified system. Teams can allocate review responsibilities, add internal notes, execute bulk modifications across several locations, and create personalized reports or establish a client portal. The solution features adjustable rules that regulate responses, postings, and profile changes before they go live; notably, both posts and profile alterations require approval, while responses to high-rated reviews can receive automatic clearance if the option is activated. Additionally, OpenGMB integrates an MCP server and REST API, enabling compatibility with a variety of clients and agents through the use of permissioned tokens. The community edition, which is accessible under the MIT license, supports self-hosting via Docker, while the hosted version enhances functionality for teams, including role management, client access, and personalized domain integration. Furthermore, a tracking feature for Maps rankings is included, boosting its effectiveness for businesses striving to enhance their digital footprint. Ultimately, OpenGMB stands out as a robust solution for anyone aiming to maximize the potential of their Google Business Profiles effortlessly.

What is MergeMe?

MergeMe seamlessly integrates GitHub pull requests and GitLab merge requests into Slack, offering an efficient notification card that continuously updates for each PR/MR. Unlike the official Slack integrations for GitHub or GitLab that create a new message for every event, MergeMe refreshes a single message as its status changes—from opened to under review to approved and finally merged. During the review process, any comments are shown as replies in a thread under the notification card, which helps keep all feedback neatly organized and easily accessible. Additionally, MergeMe supports various code hosting services, such as GitHub, GitLab, and even self-hosted GitLab instances. Users have the ability to connect multiple git sources within a single Slack workspace, allowing them to assign each repository or project to specific Slack channels. It also maps usernames from GitHub and GitLab to Slack users to ensure effective notifications via @mentions for reviewers, while employing label-based routing to sort bugs, features, and documentation efforts into different channels. The setup is designed to be user-friendly and quick, taking approximately five minutes; users simply need to connect their Slack account, link their git provider through OAuth, a GitHub App, or a webhook URL for self-hosted setups, and configure the desired channel mappings. Importantly, MergeMe operates exclusively on webhook payloads, ensuring that it does not access any private source code. For users on the Free Hobby plan, the service offers one channel mapping and accommodates up to five users, making it a fantastic entry point for teams looking to improve their development processes and collaboration. Furthermore, as teams grow and require more mappings and users, they can easily transition to higher-tier plans to unlock additional features and enhancements.
