    Didn't Expect Much But It Won Me Over

    We just needed a tool that works and does not cost too much. That is really it. ONLYOFFICE does that. Documents open fine, spreadsheets do what they are supposed to, and my team did not need much help getting used to it. I have not had any real problems in the months I have been using it. The fact that it is free to start is a big deal too. I have tried other tools that charge a lot and do not do much more than this. Simple, reliable and good value. I would recommend it.

    I have been using this for a few months now and it has been good. I mostly work with documents and spreadsheets and both work fine. The thing I was most worried about was files breaking when I open them from other tools but that never happened. Everything stays clean. We also needed something we could host on our own server and that worked out well too. Getting it connected through the API was easier than I thought it would be.

    I work in IT so I have seen a lot of these tools come and go. Most of them either cost too much or just do not work well enough to justify the switch. ONLYOFFICE felt different. It is simple, it is stable and it does not try to do too much. My team got comfortable with it pretty fast which honestly surprised me. File sharing has been smooth, nothing has broken in a way that caused real problems, and knowing our data stays on our own server is a big relief. The fact that you can start completely free and still get solid functionality is something I genuinely respect. Not a perfect tool but a really honest one. That is enough for me.

    Summary

    I did not come in with high expectations honestly. We just needed something that worked, that we could control, and that was not going to cost a fortune. ONLYOFFICE ticked all of those boxes. The editors are reliable, my team got used to it pretty quickly, and I have not had anyone come back to me with complaints about files not opening right or things going missing. It just does what it is supposed to do without making a big deal out of it. For a tool that starts free and gives you this much out of the box I think it is a really fair deal. Would definitely point other IT folks toward it.

    Honestly I was just looking for something reliable that we could host ourselves and this delivered. Been using it a few months mostly for documents and spreadsheets. Files open clean, formatting does not break, and working on things day to day feels smooth. As someone on the IT side I really appreciated having actual control over where the data sits. The API was also not bad to work with, got it connected without too much back and forth.

    Negative

    Setting it up for the first time took longer than I would have liked. Not impossible but you need to put in some time. Also noticed spreadsheets slow down a little when the file is on the heavier side. Small thing but worth knowing going in.
