What is PDN Analyzer?

The PDN Analyzer tool from Altium seamlessly integrates with Altium Designer, enabling users to efficiently identify and resolve problems like inadequate or excessive copper and unpredictable voltage drops. Additionally, it can pinpoint issues such as low voltage at key power points, copper islands, or peninsulas that may affect the performance of your PCB's power system. The PDN encompasses the complete power distribution network for active circuits on printed circuit boards, including all connections between the voltage regulator module, the metallization pads, and the integrated device dies responsible for power supply and return. To ensure that the power delivery network adheres to the IC supply voltage requirements, every segment must be scrutinized. An accurate validation of your power budget requires careful consideration of the minimum and maximum device specifications, potential worst-case voltage drops, cumulative return-path currents, and additional factors. With PDN Analyzer, you receive precise insights into the locations of these issues, facilitating a more effective design process. By addressing these concerns, designers can enhance the reliability and efficiency of their power delivery systems.

What is Otii?

Achieving a thorough comprehension of battery usage during the product development stages allows you to foresee potential issues and mitigate the need for last-minute fixes. The Otii Arc, an advanced power analyzer and supply unit, comes packaged with the standard Otii software, which is rich in features and provided at no additional charge. Designed specifically for engineers working across hardware, firmware, and software domains, the Otii Arc demonstrates exceptional versatility. Operating as a two-quadrant source measure unit (SMU), it can both source and sink constant voltage and constant current, while also featuring an extremely precise multichannel multimeter. Users can set it up as a constant, linear power supply or employ it as a power analyzer or profiler to gather and exhibit real-time data on currents, voltages, and UART logs. With the impressive capability to measure currents down to nA resolution and a sampling rate of up to 4 ksps, it excels in accuracy. Additionally, the robust desktop application is user-friendly and compatible with Ubuntu, Windows, and macOS, facilitating effortless data collection and analysis from the Otii Arc, while also allowing for the export of data in commonly utilized formats, ultimately streamlining your development process. This combination of features not only enhances analytical precision but also empowers engineers to drive more efficient product iterations.
