What is PhotoCraft?

PhotoCraft is a free, open-source image editing program designed for working with photographs, digital graphics, and layered image compositions. The application is written in Rust and provides a native editing interface with conventional image editing menus, tool panels, and keyboard shortcuts. Its GPU-accelerated rendering engine supports Metal, Vulkan, DirectX 12, and WebGPU for displaying and modifying image content. PhotoCraft allows users to organize visual elements into layers and apply masks to control which portions of an image are visible or affected by edits. The software includes painting brushes, vector editing capabilities, editable typography, and layer styles for creating graphics and modifying existing designs. Users can import and save layered Adobe Photoshop PSD and PSB documents, supporting workflows that involve existing Photoshop files. Non-destructive editing features include 16 adjustment layers, smart objects, smart filters, and more than 70 filters with live previews. Subject and object selection tools operate locally and allow users to refine selections through masking controls. The application supports 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit image documents across RGB, CMYK, Lab, and grayscale color spaces. ICC color management and soft proofing capabilities help users evaluate color representation for different output requirements. PhotoCraft supports offline editing and is distributed for macOS, Windows, and Linux, with additional access through a WebAssembly build and source code available on GitHub.

What is IntoLayers?

IntoLayers is a cutting-edge application powered by AI that converts a single flat image into multiple editable layers, enhancing usability for a wide range of creative projects. Users can easily upload a PNG or JPEG file, and the application automatically detects each text block, subject, and graphic element, reconstructing the background to eliminate any gaps. Every recognized component is saved as a separate, named, transparent PNG layer, maintaining its original placement as seen in the source image. Individuals have the flexibility to download specific layers or export all layers together in a PSD file format, which is compatible with programs like Photoshop, Photopea, Figma, or Affinity Photo, eliminating the need for tedious manual masking or the pen tool. Unlike traditional background removal tools that typically isolate a single subject while discarding other elements, IntoLayers preserves all components as editable layers, providing users with enhanced flexibility and control over their editing process. This feature is especially advantageous for marketers aiming to update visual content, designers who have received flyers without access to original source files, and anyone looking to make specific modifications to AI-generated images without the need to recreate the entire composition. As a result, IntoLayers stands out as a comprehensive solution for those seeking accurate and efficient image editing capabilities in their creative workflows.
