What is Quest Active Administrator?

Managing Active Directory without the proper tools can present significant challenges for administrators tasked with overseeing vital Microsoft AD environments. The growing expectation to achieve more with scarce resources can lead to inadvertent changes to AD objects, configurations, and Group Policy data, heightening the likelihood of errors and service disruptions. Moreover, the need to adhere to internal policies and meet regulatory compliance adds another layer of complexity to the process. Active Administrator emerges as a holistic software solution designed to manage Microsoft AD effectively, offering swifter and more responsive operations than traditional methods. By providing a unified perspective on AD management, it fills the gaps left by conventional tools, enabling prompt reactions to auditing requirements and security challenges. This platform not only integrates administration and simplifies permission oversight but also ensures the consistency of business operations, boosts IT productivity, and mitigates security risks. As a result, organizations are better equipped to handle the intricacies of Active Directory management, navigating its challenges with enhanced assurance and operational effectiveness. Ultimately, the capabilities of Active Administrator empower IT teams to maintain a robust and secure AD environment while aligning with organizational goals.

What is Opal Security?

Opal Security is an identity governance platform that helps organizations manage and enforce access decisions across human and non-human identities. The platform is designed to govern employees, contractors, AI agents, copilots, service accounts, applications, and infrastructure from a unified control layer. Opal evaluates access requests against policy and risk signals to help organizations enforce least privilege and reduce unnecessary standing access. Its Paladin AI engine can review requests, make or recommend decisions, explain the reasoning behind those decisions, and escalate uncertain cases to human reviewers. Just-in-time access enables privileged permissions to be granted for a limited period and then revoked automatically once the work is complete. AI-assisted access reviews analyze individual entitlements and available evidence to help reviewers determine whether permissions should be maintained or removed. Opal also extends governance to AI agents and autonomous systems by controlling what those identities can view, access, and execute. The platform maintains searchable audit records of access changes and administrative actions so organizations can trace who or what received access, when it changed, and how the decision was made. Audit data can be exported to external systems such as SIEM platforms or Amazon S3 to support compliance and security operations. Opal can run as a hosted service or be deployed in customer-controlled environments including virtual machines and Kubernetes, supporting organizations with strict infrastructure and regulatory requirements. Enterprise security features include SOC 2 Type 2 certification, annual penetration testing, monthly vulnerability scanning, encryption in transit and at rest, US and EU hosting options, and support for GDPR and CCPA requirements.
