Edith provides a valuable service for authors seeking genuine feedback on their completed manuscripts before committing to substantial expenses for professional editing. She starts her process by delivering an editorial letter after thoroughly reviewing the entire novel, which can be up to 150,000 words, assessing the narrative's effectiveness and pinpointing critical areas that require enhancement for a mere $15, while the first 10,000 words are offered at no cost. After this initial evaluation, the detailed editing service, available for a one-time fee of $249, is divided into five distinct stages: developmental editing that hones in on plot, character, and pacing; structural editing aimed at refining scene and chapter arrangement; stylistic editing that meticulously examines the prose on a line-by-line basis; copyediting to ensure grammatical precision and uniformity while maintaining a running style sheet; and finally, proofreading to identify any residual mistakes. Throughout all these stages, clients are encouraged to engage in discussions via chat, fostering an interactive environment where questions and concerns can be addressed, closely resembling the experience of working alongside a human editor. Edith adopts a comprehensive approach that considers the manuscript as a whole while remembering your individual preferences at each stage of editing. Although she provides suggestions for enhancement, she avoids rewriting your original text, thereby preserving your distinctive voice and style. The final edited manuscript is returned in a Word document format, and you can be confident that your work will not be used for AI training purposes, safeguarding your intellectual property rights. This tailored editing experience is specifically crafted to empower writers and elevate their storytelling capabilities while nurturing a collaborative spirit that encourages growth and creativity.
