What is SecureDesk?

SecureDesk is a self-hosted solution tailored for remote support and device management exclusively for Windows systems, ensuring that all operations are conducted through the user's own infrastructure without depending on external cloud services. It offers two distinct connection modes: attended sessions, which allow for real-time support with the consent of the end user, and unattended access, ideal for managing devices such as servers or kiosks that lack on-site personnel. For instances requiring advanced troubleshooting, technicians can utilize a SYSTEM-level shell to execute administrative commands directly on the device. At the core of its architecture is a strong encryption framework; both the technician’s console and the remote device generate their own AES-256-GCM encryption keys independently, with connections being initiated exclusively from the endpoints involved. The self-hosted relay that enables each session transmits only encrypted data and does not retain any keys, which means even the operator of the relay is unable to decrypt or access the content of the sessions. This innovative design significantly boosts security and delivers reassurance to users who are particularly concerned about data protection during remote support activities. In essence, SecureDesk stands out as a reliable choice for organizations looking to maintain full control over their data while ensuring a secure remote management environment.

What is HelpWire?

HelpWire is a remote support solution compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux. Technicians can invite users to a session through a shared link, eliminating the need for the person receiving support to register an account or provide login details. For ongoing maintenance or unresolved issues, technicians can enable unattended access and reconnect to the device later without requiring the user to join another session. The connection can also be restored automatically after the remote computer restarts. HelpWire is designed to provide responsive control by prioritizing direct peer-to-peer communication. If a direct route cannot be established because of network restrictions, the service automatically uses a relay connection instead. Remote sessions are secured with TLS and AES-256 encryption. Core features: - Account-free client access – users can join a support session directly from an invitation link without registration or credentials. - Automatic reconnection after reboot – resume work on the remote device once it restarts. - Windows UAC elevation – handle tasks that require administrator privileges during a remote session. - Cross-device file transfer – exchange files between the technician’s and client’s computers while connected. - Linux Wayland compatibility – provide support on Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora, and other distributions that use Wayland as their standard display system. - Parallel remote connections – allow a technician to support several clients simultaneously or enable multiple operators to work within one session. - All-monitor access – view and control every display connected to the client device from a single workspace. - Two-factor authentication – strengthen account security with an additional verification step. - Compatibility with restricted networks – establish remote support connections in firewall-controlled environments without complex network configuration.
