What is Simcenter Simsolid?

Simcenter Simsolid is a Siemens mechanical simulation tool that enables fast structural analysis of fully featured CAD assemblies without requiring geometry simplification or meshing. Traditional finite element analysis often requires significant preparation time before results can be generated, but Simcenter Simsolid removes those steps so engineers can focus more directly on evaluating design performance. The software is useful for designers and analysts who need quick feedback on complex parts, large assemblies, and production-level CAD models. It can efficiently handle assemblies with challenging geometry conditions, including gaps, overlaps, rough contact surfaces, and detailed connection features. Simcenter Simsolid delivers accurate simulation results in seconds to minutes on a standard PC, allowing teams to compare more design alternatives in less time. The platform supports a broad set of analysis types, including linear and nonlinear statics, thermal analysis, modal analysis, fatigue analysis, stress linearization, buckling, dynamic response, thermal stress, composites, and squeak and rattle studies. It also includes support for time, frequency, global-local, and random response simulations, giving engineers a comprehensive environment for structural evaluation. Users can define realistic connections and materials with support for bonded, sliding, and separating contacts, as well as bolts, welds, rivets, adhesives, joints, bushings, isotropic materials, orthotropic materials, elasto-plastic materials, rigid materials, gases, and liquid bodies. Simcenter Simsolid also provides many boundary condition options, including force, pressure, gravity, thermal loads, bolt tightening, inertia relief, hydrostatic loads, bearing loads, volumetric expansion, distributed mass, and remote loads. It works with major CAD and PLM formats and integrates with tools such as Onshape and Teamcenter, making it easier to fit into established engineering workflows.

What is MiTek Structure?

Specifically tailored for component manufacturers, MiTek® Structure distinguishes itself as a robust solution that delivers exceptional capabilities in structural modeling, editing, and estimating. Its cutting-edge formula builder empowers designers to create and store custom formulas, which can be categorized into sets for use across various projects or individual elements. Users can generate estimates by applying these formulas to modeled components, while also facilitating the design and modification of plan options directly from the job file. This includes the capability to incorporate every type of member, from accessories to walls, with a high degree of customization, addressing particular junction requirements suited to unique sites. The platform allows users to model a unit once and replicate it numerous times, while the interconnected system guarantees that any changes made to the base model can be selectively reflected across all instances. This efficient approach not only boosts productivity but also preserves the integrity and uniformity of the design throughout multiple projects. Furthermore, the user-friendly interface ensures that even those new to the software can quickly adapt and benefit from its extensive features.
