What is Broch?

Broch functions as a developer tunneling solution that facilitates the exposure of local services through a server located on an organization's own infrastructure. With its command-line interface, developers can create secure public HTTPS tunnels for a variety of applications, such as handling webhooks, testing integrations, sharing ongoing projects, conducting mobile tests, and showcasing their work. The server implements user authentication through the organization’s OIDC identity provider and enforces policies set by administrators to manage tunnel creation, regulate access to registered targets, and define acceptable inbound requests using network or header rules. Moreover, Broch records tunnel usage and HTTP requests, associating them with the developer who initiated them, and transmits structured audit events to the customer's logging systems. The Docker-based server can be deployed in both cloud and on-premises environments, allowing for effective user access and seat management through a user-friendly administration interface. The command-line tool supports Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, ensuring that it is a flexible option for developers on various platforms. This adaptability not only promotes efficient collaboration among teams but also simplifies testing processes, ultimately improving their development workflow. By streamlining these operations, Broch empowers developers to focus more on their projects and less on the logistics of connectivity and access.
