Unicorn Panel vs. Merkantor

Unicorn Panel serves as a versatile self-hosted web hosting control panel that enables efficient management of multiple servers. This primary interface provides oversight of various workload hosts, allowing users to provision and monitor every aspect of their websites, databases, mailboxes, and DNS zones from a unified dashboard, eliminating the need for separate logins for each server. Each website is isolated within its own container, featuring unique user permissions, port configurations, and resource limitations. Users can select from various web engines, including Sleipnir, NGINX, Apache, or OpenLiteSpeed, and choose PHP versions from 5.6 to 8.5. Database options are plentiful, with popular selections such as MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Mimir. The Hermes mail suite offers essential functionalities like IMAP/SMTP, DKIM/SPF/DMARC, spam filtering, and Roundcube webmail, while the Heimdall component provides authoritative DNS management across multiple hosts. Management upgrades for server roles and the control panel can be executed fleet-wide with a single click, which streamlines operations. The system features extensive malware scanning, a robust firewall, per-resource backups with selective restoration options, and white-label branding for resellers. Built on Alpine Linux and using Podman for both amd64 and arm64 architectures, the platform also includes a REST API and CLI, all while prioritizing user privacy by refraining from any telemetry usage. This architecture not only boosts scalability and flexibility but also makes it a suitable choice for a diverse range of hosting operations, catering to needs ranging from individual projects to expansive enterprises. Ultimately, Unicorn Panel is designed to enhance user experience while providing powerful tools for managing complex hosting environments.

Merkantor is an e-commerce platform that can be installed on your own hosting server, ensuring total control over both files and databases. It requires PHP version 8.3 or higher and is compatible with either MySQL or MariaDB, making it suitable even for standard shared hosting environments, without the necessity for SSH, Composer, or Cron jobs. Before installation, a compatibility check is performed to ensure the server meets the necessary requirements. Updates are provided through signed packages, and an initial backup is created; should any complications occur during the update process, it can easily be reverted. The platform allows users to efficiently manage various product attributes such as variants, stock levels, SKUs, and VAT calculations via a streamlined admin panel that includes an AI assistant for generating product descriptions, though additional provider fees apply. The system has undergone real payment testing with services such as Stripe and iyzico, and it supports multiple payment methods including PayPal, PayTR, bank transfers, and cash on delivery. Furthermore, it offers shipping solutions, e-invoicing features, and legal templates that cater specifically to the Turkish market. A one-time licensing fee is applicable for each domain without any recurring renewal fees or sales commissions, although hosting and domain costs are separate from this fee. Additionally, this self-hosted platform empowers users with enhanced control and flexibility over their e-commerce ventures, allowing for a tailored experience that meets individual business needs. By using Merkantor, businesses can enjoy a robust e-commerce solution with comprehensive features that support growth and efficiency.
