What is Weavestream?

Weavestream is a cutting-edge, open-source IT documentation platform that is freely accessible, tailored for managed service providers, IT experts, and small teams, presenting a practical alternative to SaaS solutions such as IT Glue and Hudu without the limitations of vendor dependency. It empowers users to systematically document critical elements like clients, assets, credentials, domains, IPs, and procedures, all linked together to facilitate easy navigation without the hassle of disorganized notes cluttering the workspace. Among its notable features is a Docker-first deployment approach that simplifies installation, a total lack of telemetry and license checks, and a unified access tier that guarantees all users can access all functionalities without facing upselling tactics or unwarranted obstacles. Furthermore, it leverages PostgreSQL, ensuring that users maintain complete control over their data, which includes comprehensive management of databases and backups. Weavestream also encompasses a variety of features such as a client portal, a knowledge base with runbooks, monitoring capabilities for domains and SSL, management of IP addresses, a credential vault, and role-based access control. Licensed under AGPL-3.0, it allows users the freedom to fork the software if required. Born from the vision of an IT professional who was in search of a robust documentation solution and tired of the constraints posed by subscription-based models, Weavestream stands out as a truly community-driven initiative that addresses the challenges of contemporary IT landscapes. This platform not only emphasizes user independence but also encourages teamwork and collaboration among IT departments, enhancing overall productivity and efficiency in various organizational settings.

What is Conductral?

Conductral is a cutting-edge platform focused on automating workloads and scheduling jobs, specifically crafted for data centers and IT operations, facilitating centralized management and oversight of jobs, dependencies, calendars, and file transfers across multiple sites, servers, and tenants. A remarkable feature of the platform is its ability to import Control-M data, which allows users to access existing exports like jobs, folders, calendars, dependencies, and variables, as well as to perform dry runs that include coverage reports and differences until the final switch, all while enabling parallel operations and migration approval. The platform also incorporates a Composer tool that features a graphical editor for job and flow creation, supports version control, and keeps an audit log for monitoring changes. Additionally, it provides Overwatch for real-time oversight with capabilities such as a daily plan, early SLA warnings, and alert systems that can send notifications through email or webhooks, along with necessary follow-up jobs. Another innovative element is Maestro, an AI assistant that generates job proposals that require human validation, guaranteeing that modifications do not happen automatically. Conductral functions as a self-hosted solution adaptable to both Linux and Windows systems, employing PostgreSQL without the need for cloud infrastructure and supplying signed release packages (SBOM) for enhanced security. Its licensing framework is structured around the production environment, covering active job definitions along with agents, tenants, users, and testing environments, positioning it as a holistic option for organizations aiming to optimize their IT operations. In summary, Conductral emerges as a powerful and intuitive tool that significantly boosts efficiency and governance in workload management, ultimately helping organizations to achieve their operational objectives more effectively. This platform not only simplifies complex processes but also empowers users to maintain greater control over their IT workflows.
