What is Zooid?

Zooid is a collaborative messaging platform built on the Matrix protocol and offered as open-source software, featuring capabilities such as channels, threads, direct messaging, and designated spaces for team interactions. The platform supports self-hosting, which guarantees that all messages and user information are stored within the infrastructure that the operator controls. A standout feature of Zooid is its ability to incorporate AI agents directly within the same chat environments as human users, thereby fostering enhanced collaboration. Agents that adhere to the Agent Client Protocol (ACP), such as Claude Code, Codex, and opencode, can participate in discussions, with their contributions presented as structured interface elements rather than plain text; for example, permission requests manifest as approval cards, tool interactions are illustrated as structured data, task outlines are formatted as checklists, and sub-agent hierarchies are displayed as expandable trees. Furthermore, each AI agent functions within its own isolated sandbox to ensure security. Distributed under the MIT license, Zooid allows for comprehensive end-to-end self-hosting options, empowering users with the autonomy and control they desire over their communication environments. The combination of these innovative features positions Zooid as a highly attractive solution for teams eager to effectively harness the collaborative potential of both human participants and AI agents in their workflows. This makes it a versatile tool that can adapt to various organizational needs and enhance productivity through seamless integration of technology.

What is Kimchi?

Kimchi functions as a centralized hub aimed at managing both SaaS and self-hosted AI models, allowing teams to easily deploy, route, optimize, and scale their LLM infrastructure while adhering to their existing developer workflows. This innovative solution offers a cohesive control layer for handling AI coding agents, open-source models, commercial products, and internal inference, which enables organizations to effectively combine cost-efficient open-source options with premium services such as Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini when needed. By focusing on minimizing LLM expenses, Kimchi boosts the independence of development processes through proficient model routing, coding-oriented inference, integration with multi-cloud environments, support for multi-agent workflows, and the capability to interchange OSS and commercial models with little setup difficulty. Furthermore, it promotes the use of the Kimchi coding agent across diverse teams, thus expanding access to AI coding skills in engineering firms while ensuring clear usage attribution, cost visibility, and preserved operational governance. This holistic strategy not only simplifies the integration of AI but also empowers teams to harness the optimal resources available for their unique requirements, ultimately fostering innovation and efficiency in project execution. As a result, Kimchi not only enhances productivity but also transforms the way organizations approach AI development and resource allocation.
