With the portal solution from Intrexx, we have developed an internal company portal. It simplifies internal communication and digital collaboration enormously. Day-to-day work is, for example, considerably simplified by the compressed quick access and the digital document filing, which manages general documents centrally. The mapping of digital processes makes work more efficient and saves time. Now we can also use the vacation planner clearly from the portal by converting it into a digital application.
I am a user and an administrator of the portal and therefore I can judge the intuitive and smart usability of the portal from both sides!

It would be nice to have more options in terms of the design of the front end.

Intrexx is a very good tool for new and experienced developers and besides some minor inconveniences the usability is very good.

Thanks to the low-code approach it is really easy to create a database and website. So it is easy to use even for people that have no experience with coding.
But Intrexx also has some advanced features for experienced developers, so that complex websites can be realised.

The parent-datagroups and references are sometimes a bit inconsistent, because in some views you can access the data from the parent-datagroups and references and sometimes not.

Sometimes it is difficult for the customer to imagine how the later application with the necessary processes etc. should look like. With Intrexx, it is possible to quickly present results to the customer in order to create the basis for further ideas, so that the customer receives an individual application that is tailored to their needs.

Intrexx offers a modular system with which one can quickly and individually develop prototypes for one's customers' digitisation projects without having any real programming knowledge.
However, if the applications are to become more complex, the necessary logics can be programmed with the help of JavaScript, Velocity and Groovy.
Although Intrexx is very complex with its possibilities, the menu navigation of the portal manager is very clear and after a short training period, one can find one's way around relatively quickly.
Should one still have questions about the use of Intrexx, these can be found in the documentation of the online help.

I would like to see better documentation/online help for scripting in the future. Some kind of best practices for the most common errors that occur in the community (e.g. how best to deal with the conversion of time stamps in Intrexx, etc.) in order to avoid unnecessary time spending on troubleshooting.

Without experience, complicated requirements can quickly lead to technical debt. If bad decisions were made at the beginning of a development, it is often difficult to eliminate them later and it is often faster to redo the whole application.

Overall I am recommending Intrexx as well as the low code philosophy as the development of tomorrow. As companies we don't need to invest in massive and expensive dev projects, now everything could be done much faster with Intrexx
And in this case, the resources used in the project are considerably lower than in the legacy development case, the time to market is considerably lower and the business can have quick advantages of digitalization in their day to day life

For us, it is the product of choice for business applications and project digitalization. The platform offers a high degree of customization and integration with other 3rd party software, including of the shelf connectors for the popular software.
The platform is very stable and is decreasing the time to market to roughly a quarter of the legacy development.
Also, the platform is taking care of the security topics as a standard creating a very good permission model that has to be managed by the administrators

The licensing starter package is quite big for small companies. Although within the market the results are similar, I believe that taking the small companies on board could be a benefit for the platform.

With the many possibilities there are always new ideas about what can be done. Hardly any other software can do that.

The possibility to map many use cases. It is also possible to implement complex workflows very quickly.

It's not that well known. But it is on the way to change it.

For me as a trainee it was very exciting how easy it is to get my first results with this platform. In just four weeks i learned to develop simple applications for productive use. Even the fact that Intrexx is platform independent makes so much fun.

Intrexx is an easy to learn development platform. You get fast results in really less time, even for me as a trainee.

There are no cons to mention, except for the pricing.

Together with Intrexx we were able to set up our own business-apps based on our own needs. This helps us to set the focus on our core-business.

Very fast and easy way to create business applications, full featured interfaces to implement other systems, even state-of-the-art systems like Azure AD, GraphAPI, AWS, Google and many more. The front-end is very nice looking and available for nearly all platforms.

Still no way to use offline functions ootb, but gives all interfaces to develop such solutions.

Working with Intrexx was quite some fun due to the short time you can learn the necessary things. Despite the problems with the documentation I would still choose to work with it again.

Since it is a low code framework creating a web application with Intrexx is quite intuitive. Just drag and drop the item where you want it to be and you are good to go. This applies when creating the user-interface but also with processes. The learning curve is pretty steep ergo after just a few days of practice creating a simple application is possible.

The only thing that really bothered me was the lack of documentation. Within the little amount of time I worked with Intrexx, there were multiple situations where the documentation provided on the official website was either too imprecise or too little.

Overall, it's a great tool to improve productivity and helps to bring customer-centricity to a new level.

Creating an interface design beyond the standard sometimes requires a lot of time and the licensing model could be a bit more flexible.

Intrexx accompanies you every day, whether it's tasks, projects or time recording. A lot is possible. Newbies quickly learn to create their own applications for their purposes. The extensive integration makes Intrexx a very flexible tool.

No great specialist knowledge is required for Intrexx at the beginning. Certain business processes can be recreated quickly and without code. The support always tries to help as soon as possible, should a problem arise. Intrexx continues to develop every year. The portal manager on a MacOS system does not run as stable as it does on Windows.

Overall it's a good, fast and easy way to build application even without many programming skills and with a little experience you are able to extend the Intrexx standard functions even more using your own code.

It's very practical and also educational to some extent if you use it daily at work or are still at the beginning of a career as a web developer. For companies it is practical to quickly build their own intranet, but you should not expect too many functions.
