What is FosterCare.Team?

FosterCare.Team is a groundbreaking online platform aimed at transforming collaborative efforts in foster care, significantly improving the support offered to foster parents and raising the standard of care for children in the system. Our software streamlines communication among all participants in the foster care ecosystem while prioritizing the privacy and security of each individual involved. In contrast to conventional agency tools, FosterCare.Team links a wide array of stakeholders, such as guardians ad litem, therapists, foster parents, and biological parents, cultivating a more inclusive community. By enhancing the dialogue among team members, we bolster the resources available to foster parents, ultimately benefiting the children in their care with an elevated quality of support. Furthermore, agencies will find it easier to retain their current foster parents and draw in new ones, since research indicates that well-supported and content foster parents are the most effective recruiters for the system. In conclusion, the success of a thriving foster care environment is largely dependent on the shared strength and satisfaction of the entire team, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and mutual support. Ultimately, this interconnected approach not only aids individual foster families but also contributes to a more robust foster care system overall.

What is ECAP?

A study conducted by researchers from the University of Kansas's School of Social Welfare aimed to evaluate the effects of the Enhanced Child Placement (ECAP) program on the outcomes for children and their families. This assessment utilized a pre/post analysis to compare placements facilitated by ECAP with those that occurred without its support. The summary of these research findings highlights significant insights. Furthermore, the team delved into more than 22,000 historical placement records to analyze how various characteristics affect the stability of placements. Based on these results, the algorithms used by ECAP were improved to boost its overall effectiveness. The Family and Child Team (FCT) is actively involved in ongoing research initiatives designed to enhance our understanding of how effective placement matching can lead to better outcomes for children and families. To foster continuous advancement, collaboration with experts from our Research Advisory Board is integral, employing predictive analytics to reduce trauma for children and families across the country through enhancements to the ECAP program. As we move forward, our dedication to refining our approaches is steadfast, ensuring alignment with the most effective practices in child welfare, and we remain open to new methodologies that could further benefit our efforts.
