We are excited to present a remote pair programming utility tailored for Atom, which promises a smooth and responsive experience! This tool features a fundamental integration with Share.js, facilitating real-time collaborative editing via operational transformation (OT), and connects various Atom events to a websocket, including actions like file opening, closing, and saving. To get started, simply utilize the Atom package manager found in the Settings view or run the command `apm install motepair` in your terminal. After installation, you can begin collaborating by executing the Motepair connect command, accessible through Cmd+Shift+P. It is essential for all collaborators to access the same project directory, as the tool relies on the relative project path for proper file recognition. Moreover, you can set up your own server on Heroku, which can significantly enhance your experience. It is important to note that the current connection lacks encryption; if this poses a concern for you, it’s best to refrain from using this tool until we can resolve this issue, which is on our list of priorities.
