Intuitive Product and Great Service
Date: Dec 01 2023SummaryOverall, I highly recommend APS as a payroll software due to the fantastic service team, its highly intuitive software, and the great add ons that make HR and Payroll so much easier.
PositiveThe service team is easy to contact, super responsive, and always willing to help. The product is intuitive and easy to figure out. Some of my favorite features are the report manager. You can easily customize any kind of report you may need. I also love the 'tile' feature where you can add tiles of information on any tab that suits your needs. For example, on the payroll tab, I added the Employee Statistics tile so every time I look at payroll I quickly see how many employees not enrolled in direct deposit. I also appreciate all the "add on" options, like Benefit Administration & APS Hire. The work very seamlessly with payroll.
NegativeI wish rate changes would have beginning and end dates in an easy to view history. Same with direct deposit information. On the Dates tab, if a term employee is changed to active, I wish it would automatically update the rehire date. Also, if a person is put on leave, it would automatically update leave start and if changed from leave to active, automatically update leave end. It would be great if the history of these changes were easily viewable in a list on this tab. One last thing, it would be great if two factor authorization was a feature that could be turned on for APS payroll.

Date: Dec 01 2023SummaryI've been through many such transitions and I have to say this was one of the smoothest , efficient changes I've experienced.
PositiveOur implementation team was very thorough and readily available for all of our questions as we went about setting up our instance. We had weekly calls for several weeks to address any open items and for training The system is very user friendly and logical. We were especially impressed with the integration with our accounting software - Sage Intacct. It has saved us literally hours of time in recording the biweekly payroll.
NegativeThe instructions available for some of the functions that we use very rarely (e.g. paying out bonuses and the related tax issues) were not complete enough for us to process without assistance. However, a phone call for help, quickly resolved our issues.

I feel like they are always there and happy to help. My employees love the system because it very easy to use. APS has saved me time and the company money. I feel like I have a partner with APS and I never got that feeling with ADP or any other HRIS or payroll software.
PositiveAmazing Customer Service and support. Love my dedicated service team! They are always available when I need them. I never have to wait on hold for an extended period of them.
User friendly software, even my employees who have trouble with computers are able to navigate APS.
The application tracking is amazing.NegativeAPS has a good reporting where you can build your own reports and they have many custom reports already build. Its user friendly. My only con would be I wish it provided totals when exporting it CVS files.

APS has simplified my payroll process
Date: Dec 01 2023SummaryOf course there was a learning curve at first, but I'm really happy with their payroll platform. If I have a question, I send an email and get a response with an hour or so. If I need immediate assistance, I can always call them.
PositiveI don't have to re-enter a salary, so unless it changes I can skip that step and not worry that's it's incorrect. The entire process doesn't take very long at all, especially on a payroll run without any changes. Any changes I do make are easily done. Timesheets are easily uploaded to keep track of days off.
I don't have to worry about filing quarterly reports with various state agencies; APS does it for me. W2's are easily circulated.
If I have any changes that I'm not sure about I can run them by my team and get a quick answer and explanation.NegativeI'm used to making changes for the Group Life deduction at the end of the year for former employees. APS requires some paperwork completed on this and they have to make the changes in-house.

Whenever I need assistance or just have a question, they are quick to respond and I can usually get an issue resolved right away--or at least the same day.PositiveSupport team is top notch!! You don' t just get into a call center--you have a team directly assigned to your account and they all have general knowledge of the whole platform, but each also has their area of expertise for more involved issues (benefits, recruitment, payroll, etc). Workflow is logical and easy to navigate for users as well as management and admin staff.
NegativeThat I didn't find them sooner! I would like to be able to drag/drop multiple documents at one time into staff accounts but I think they are working on that.

NegativePay Batch reporting feature could definitely improve. The inability to pull employment status column for each employee while processing a payroll batch can be tricky if you have 2 employees with the same name.

PositiveInitial setup was thorough and expedient. We have some unusual circumstances and APS was able to meet our needs. We are a non-profit and APS has met all our needs.
APS Hire makes it easy to vet, hire and onboard new employees and be able to keep track of where each applicant is in the hiring process.
We particularly appreciate our Support team. They are timely and thorough.
The Online Help feature is thorough and easy to understand.
Is easy to navigate. Very intuitive for those determined to figure things out themselves.
Very comprehensive. Exceptional at keeping program up to date. I marvel at the minds behind the scenes!NegativeCurrently does not communicate directly with our benefits providers. This will change in near future. Our main provider is updating their system and employee portal.

PositiveThe best part of the APS Payroll System is the ease of use of the product, but truly it is the people behind the product. The customer service is amazing! The fastest responses, that are accurate and informative. They will help you through any situation you may have and make sure it gets done correctly so you are able to have everything be correct on reporting later. The product itself is so easy for my staff to use, it is rare that I have to answer questions, the biggest question I get is "I forgot my password", and that's simple to do as well! Love using this system!
NegativeThey have many training videos and tutorials available, but I prefer to train when I can walk through the use with someone and this is rare.

We were given valuable information that made the integration process much cleaner as we moved our data from the previous software. We found that the added modules were valuable, and I would definitely recommend them as assets to the APS system. The integrated system works seamlessly and has provided all that was promised to us. The support staff have been quick to respond, knowledgeable about the software, and willing to work with us on upgrades that we have requested. I would highly recommend APS to others who are searching for a well-developed, robust software system.
PositiveOur church began the process of selecting and setting up the APS system 2 1/2 years ago. We found that what the sales team shared was very informative and accurate. As we began the setup process, we found that most of the support staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. We moved from a system that was not integrated, so we were very pleased with the fact the program is seamless. We added the Attendance, Benefit, New Hire, and Onboarding modules and highly recommend them. The downloading of the data came across smoothly and accurately, with very few "glitches." We have found that the dimensions have allowed us to implement the details required for our multiple locations, departments, and events. The software has exceeded our expectations with the ability to fulfill the requirements we desire in HR software. The support staff is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable when we reach out to them. When issues are above their level of expertise, they quickly push the questions to the programming level. I would highly recommend this software to anyone who needs a robust HR system.
NegativeDuring the setup process, we were assigned an individual who was not as knowledgeable about the system as we needed. This created delays as the person needed to spend too much time either researching or consulting others. Some of the detail required in setting up the system was cumbersome, but after completion, it has worked seamlessly.

NegativeI wish the HR training came before the payroll training, it seems backwards to do payroll first then HR as there are many HR related things going on prior to running the first payroll cycle. Also, development times for custom reports and integrations with third parties could be quicker.
