Updated: Sep 17 2024SummaryMy overall experience is this, AFTER you go through the migraine of setting this up it works great... until you need to change something or ask for help. the system works and is easy to train people on its simply the company that owns the software that is horrible and has no idea what customer service is.
PositiveThe sale Screen and the Reporting is nice and thats about all I have to say about this system's "pros".
NegativeCustomer Service has no idea how their software works and every time I message in the chatbox, call in, or email in I will always get different answers and some people will say we don't do that and some people will say "yes we do that" and then close you service ticket the next day. Pricing went up for both the plan and our CC rates after only 8 months even though we were told they would not hike up rates. decent software but a TERRIBLE team. also your "account manager" is a glorified salesman who does not actually help you with anything, I wanted to change my plan options around and I was told to just do it on the website.

PositiveThis system is relatively easy to use with some very nice features which is what made me choose them in the first place. It is an excellent system for helping with inventory management. The ecom side is also fairly easy to pick up and manage.
NegativeBe prepared to wait 45 mins to and hour on hold for customer service. Then get pawned off on your account manager. Its been 4 days since I emailed mine and nothing. Emailed again today and now she is out until Tuesday. Currently been waiting 55 mins and 12 seconds for customer service again.

Great POS System for Small Businesses

The best part is the customer service, they are readily available, and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this software for small businesses.

PositiveLightspeed works effortlessly for us as a POS system. They integrate or play well with my suppliers, We are a bicycle shop and they seem to have been made fore bike shops. The service they provide is A1, quick, friendly and patient with me, even when I forget things.

Love Lightspeed!
Date: Apr 26 2022SummaryI am very happy with Lightspeed. It is easy for our staff to use when ringing through purchases as well as creating reports. We have been using it for over 5 years and find they are always improving it.
PositiveI like the ease of use with this system. I also like how they continue to improve and update it. We have our webstore through Lightspeed as well and it updates the inventory at time of purchase both for in store and online purchases. This prevents us from selling something online that we just sold the last one, in store.
NegativeSometimes the wait times for support can be a bit long when I need to complete a transaction in that moment but it is great that you can get a live person on the phone to help you through.

PositiveYour representatives at Lightspeed are knowledgeable about your product. Helpful, kind, easy to understand, pleasant personalities. I have not had long waiting periods. I always get a call back when requested. And I have always in the 3 years we have used had my issue dealt within 30 minutes tops. Quick and knowledgeable.
NegativeThat other companies do not have this quality of representatives. I just told the Verizon/Straight Talk Company that they need to contact you for advice as to how they can become better at Customer Service.

I love that I can see what's happening at my business from anywhere with an internet connection - even from my phone! I highly recommend Lightspeed to anyone who needs inventory management, etc. whether they are in a retail or restaurant environment!
PositiveI love having everything integrated: sales, inventory, employee hours, reporting, etc. Everything is at my fingertips from anywhere with internet! Lightspeed has outstanding customer service and was able to provide me with every piece of equipment necessary to transition my retail business from an old-school register to an iPad system that now tracks all inventory in real time!

PositiveLightspeed is very easy to use, which was an important factor when I chose it many years ago. I appreciate that it's cloud based, and I can access my dashboard from any device, and updates happen seamlessly.
NegativeLightspeed no longer interfaces directly with the website platform that I use. This was not the case when I originally signed up, and now, several years later, I do indeed need to use a gateway between the two. I know Lightspeed offers their own platform, and I prefer to stay with my original.

PositiveLightspeed is easy to use at our brick and mortar Rock and Garden center. The process of checking out customers is effortless for all computer levels. The customer service is always helpful when I need service.
NegativeThe return menu is not as user friendly as other retail software I have used in the past. But we don't often do returns.

PositiveVery user friendly for our staff, we have some "older" staff that are not very computer knowledgeable and they were able to learn the workflow very easily, and our younger staff love it because its like using their phone. We have recommended Lightspeed restaurant to other restaurant operators. Reporting is great, back office can be accessed from a tablet our phone to make changes and see reports on the fly.
NegativeWould like to see more integration with other platform for online gift card sales, also would like to see a few different hourly reporting functions.
