I'm building 2 monitoring systems with PRTG 10K sensors.
It's been relatively easy to discover the network and the alarming is reliable and very quick to appear.
I highly recommend using this monitoring software, because it's easy to implement and has an intuitive interface for any type of user.
Of course, there are improvements to be made... because nothing is ever perfect.

1. Ease in building the structure of network equipment and systems.
2. Good automatic discovery capacity
3. Good library of pre-configured sensors
4. Excellent technical support

1. It doesn't have the facility to export to .xls or .csv, various types of alarm tables or the equipment cadastre.
2. There is a lack of pre-configured sensors for some types of equipment, such as ARISTA.
3. Refreshing the PRTG page in the browser sometimes works bad

I love this product and would like to take the training session so I can know better how to properly use it in our organization.

Support is always helpful and straight to the point. I am comfortable navigating the product and it is always up to date with new features and capabilities.

Actually there is nothing on my mind right now it is a lovely product.

Cheap (for its return) and useful tool, has a nice smartphone app for on-the-go monitoring and quick checks, even while traveling and on holidays.

Instant monitoring, quick, easy to setup graphic maps, always on our monitoring screens. Sends warning e-mails and even opens tickets with our support environment.

Hard to set up Office 365 emails, I had to open a ticket with Paessler to guide me through it.

When you create a lot of sensors, then it is very difficult/impossible to modify them in a mass way later.

PRTG has been incredible. We use it daily in a College to monitor the systems we have in place. It is so intuitive and easy to create. Once we figured out the processes for WMI services to be added, we've been able to add as many devices as we've needed. We've also been able to create a map that fits our needs perfectly. Every support ticket we have logged has been actioned quickly and I have found every support technician very polite as well as patient.

How interactive PRTG is. How the maps can be tailored to suit our needs. The intuitive UI. The support.

The learning curve for newer users can be quite intense, we have had to learn a few different new techniques with managing WMI for example.

Our PRTG servers have around 40 thousand sensors. Most of servers the redundancy is provided in a cluster.

Easy configuration. Many types of sensors. Flexible scripting sensor capabilities. Good support. Frequent updates.

Complicated drawing of custom graphic sensor maps.

Excellent product, you can send out alerts, through power automate, we can create actions from this, it alerts us to all of our incidents and I am able to keep an eye on everything, excellent product, happy with tech support,

Translates MIB to their readable format and is easy to use, MIB tester as well, plenty of their own templates, they also monitor our storage, which doesn't allow SNMP queries, but it manages to get the relevant information from it

Some of the automations are quite complicate and I need assistance with anything programming wise

Overall, I would recommend this tool to all those tasked with monitoring their infrastructure. Ability to create custom maps for each department allows them to monitor their own systems and act upon alerts. Highly recommend this tool.

Great Map (dashboard) capabilities. Liked ability to do visual diagram of infrastructure and be able to drill into sections when alerting.
As an IT professional I am tasked to learn systems on the fly. The online videos and documentation makes PRTG an easy system to learn.

At this point I have not found any "Cons" on the application.

When you get used to it you can do everything with it.

There is lot that this software can check, you can easily sort all kinds off devices and probes you can customize almost everything you want.

The beginning is not simple, but you can get great help.

First of all, it should be emphasized that PRTG is a program that can be relied upon. The program works without any problems and all updates and migrations performed by us went without problems. The manufacturer's support is exemplary, there is also a large user community, a knowledge base and how-to videos on YouTube. Rather, it is the task of the administrator to find all the options that the program offers. It happens when a specific problem needs to be solved and the program is found to offer a solution. If the solution is not directly part of the program, there is a great possibility of creating your own sensors.

This monitoring software is easy to install. Against freely distributed programs such in-depth knowledge is not required and basic commissioning is very easy. The program included a lot pre-prepared sensors. On the other hand you can create nearly any possible your own sensor. Autodiscovery is also an option. You are able to monitor Windows, Linus and hardware devices. In the program, it is possible to set different methods of notifications and the time when notifications will be sent.
It is possible to create different views of monitored devices, define access according to users.
At least in our organization, we primarily use a web-based approach to PRTG, but there is also a desktop application. The mobile application for both IOS and Android is also practical.

They are rather "nice to have". For example, more options and more convenient work with so-called Maps. After creating a user group, an empty device group and notification pattern are automatically created. Although there is an SSO option in connection with Azure, MFA as such is not applied.
It is not possible to prevent the creation of a PRTG ticket after autodiscovery. Despite the high quality of the program, next year there will still be a significant price increase.

It's a tool that I've been using for over 5 years now, and the regular version upgrades as well as the effectiveness of the support allow me to have a good overall vision of the most standard aspects of our infrastructures. I continue to use it with pleasure.

Many sensors pre-installed by default cover a large part of a standard infrastructure

Some sensors are missing that could be useful (Kerberos authentication, HTTP support scenarios, etc.)
and the cartography editor is sometimes a little complicated to use, although very powerful.

I'm very satisfied with PRTG solution because of the possibilities, interface and price quality ratio.

This is actually a really good monitoring software. What does it have?

7. You can can automatically discover devices on the network and create a visual map of the infrastructure.
8. It also supports integration with various third-party tools and technologies.

For me there are no cons. Was working with open source Zabbix and PRTG is way more friendly to configure.

Very good tooling for monitoring your environment. It's easy to expand with custom sensors and development of new features goes on and on

Reports are very lengthy and not satisfactory, however PRTG is not meant for reports. It is for real time monitoring.

Earlier versions there were some unexpected errors during installation. However, the newer version seemed good so far.
