We use PRTG to monitor many customers' networks, for us it is a necessary tool to identify and mitigate the problem faster. we also use it as an analysis tool to identify the causes of the problem, having multiple pre-configured sensors that are easy to use.we are able to monitor all of our customers' networks by providing a proactive service.

It is simple to implement.
It has the ability to be customized on individual customer needs.
The use of the system is intuitive for all people.

We have had some problems getting false positives with Meraki products.

PRTG is good tool for monitoring large network devices, it has multiple features that other NMS tools can't beat. It can monitor all the possible devices in the network. their customer executive supports are very friendly.

Easy configuration, optimal trial period that permit in unlimited way to add all sensors necessary to monitor your network.

The fact that it is currently only available to host on windows is a bit a draw back. Say this however the currently development into a Linux based system is showing promise.

The software is incredibly complete, it gives us visibility of all infrastructure, the Android and iOS app help us to receive notifications of important metrics and even monitor from everywhere.

Overall the product is very performing and easy to install and use through the wizards it is possible to add different types of sensors and you don't have to worry about installing particular MIB packages to monitor the most common types of hardware.

The price should be slightly lower in order to allow it to be sold even to small companies that need overall monitoring.

I didn't realize how much I loved it until it went down from a billing issue. Now I can't not have it.

I inherited this product from the previous sysadmin, we use PRTG-Hosted. I was hesitant at first, having never heard of the product. But after I got it setup properly and notifications and alerts flowing it was an easy adaptation for me to make. Documentation is pretty easy to follow too.

Configuration has a unique mindset. Easy to learn though. Otherwise I love it.

Extremely suggested if you need to monitor any device in your environment and receive alerts when your configs are triggered.

You can monitor everything using SNMP and all sensor included inside it, over the custom sensor you can choose for your scope.

Reporting could be better, especially for ping sensors (top 100) that does not provide cvs data exportation feature, but it's ok for all the remaining options.

Overall we are completely satisfied with the overall sensor data. All kind of servers including blades, vm's, workstations, and other network devices can be easily monitored with this tool. Also it is best suited for enterprises that require historic logs of all their devices. Even the free version can be utilized efficiently for small businesses to add their core units and monitor efficiently.

It has option to monitor Virtual machine resources with a single sensor thereby reducing the overall sensor count. Also historic as well as real time graphs can be easily plotted with this tool. Notifications through mail can be easily configured and mail groups can be easily configured based on device priorities.

License cost is a bit high for 2500 sensors as this has to be renewed yearly to get the latest software updates. Also it has limited support for Linux based installations.

A happy users/admin for many years in different branches and different companies. I really advise this product.

I have used PRTG for many years now. First when I worked for ABNAMRO and later at other it companies. Value for money is great. Service is superb. Easy to install and maintain. I have tried another SaaS solution, but still prefer PRTG.

None, it has everything I need. I really can't think of any.

Overall happy with the PRTG monitoring and suggest others to use this simple tool for their Infrastructure.

It is very easy to add devices for minuting and setup Microsoft Teams and Email for Alerts.

sometimes some sensors do not work after the new release, however, Team help us just to fix it.

Have used several monitoring tools (Nagios, ...) throughout my career in IT, this is by far the most "satisfying" one.

Tons of perfectly fitting Tools/Probes to be implemented, the real all in one solution for everyone, who has to monitor Servers or Applications.

The only thing one could complain about is the necessity of more than one license when setting up in completely separated and untrusted domains, as I do not get all ports open in between. But that is more an internal problem here in my company than one of the PRTG Software.

This is one of my favorite products. We use close to 5000 sensors with fantastic results. We have close to 100 maps at this point that we use for various monitoring.

Adding new users could be a bit easier, but that could also be attributed to something that happens so infrequently.

We are a nonprofit religious organization with five campuses. We have a very lean IT team but are able to maintain thousands of network endpoints; primarily because PRTG keeps a pulse on the health of the infrastructure. PRTG quite literally equates to the value of a full-time staff member in the amount of oversight it provides for us. We are able to be so much more proactive than we would without it.

Sensors and devices are arranged in a logical and intuitive order that vastly simplifies management. The autodiscover feature makes initial onboarding of devices much easier. PRTG is exceptionally reliable and the auto-update feature keeps us current. The amount of data points it collects is astounding - over 2.4 million scans per day in our case. However, it's so easy to distill that down to usable dashboards and only the necessary alerts. The iOS app is also fantastic.

The ticketing feature hasn't been very useful for us, but I'm learning that's usually because of user error or that I've misunderstood how a component works. It's also been difficult to understand how to add other users/departments and scope their devices accordingly.
