What Premier does well for us is integrating both the project management system and financial reporting into one platform. In the past, I’ve used systems where finance was handled separately from project accounting. This required uploads between systems that often led to duplicate entries and reconciliation issues. With Premier, I rely heavily on workflows to ensure transactions are sent to the right people for approval. This helps to maintain accuracy without having to review every transaction manually. It also provides more timely financial reporting and stronger controls, allowing my team and I to focus on moving forward instead of constantly fixing past issues. What I appreciate most is that Premier continuously improves its software, especially on the project management side — unlike other platforms I’ve used in my 30 years in construction, which rarely evolve.

The biggest pro for Premier is Financial Reporting and Project Management in one system. They also continuously update their software.

No major concerns with Premier. Once in a while you have a minor issue but the support team is always there to assist and resolve.

Premier has been able to bridge the accounting to the project management to the field. We’re able to keep an eye on all the major buckets that we've got going on with one kind of interface. It’s the lifeline of our operations; Premier makes the complicated pretty easy at the end of the day. The progress billing side is very effective. It’s easy. It puts the information in front of you... you quickly look across the board at different AP invoices, pending, approved, or on hold, and know that when we send the bills at the end of the month, we’ve got an accurate representation of what really happened in the field. When you're relying on more primitive tech... things like cost or time in the field, change orders, that stuff can snowball. Premier gives us a good system to track it.

Like any implementation, there were some hiccups but it was a pretty seamless transition once the setup was complete. Support has been really good with all the different training modules, the help desk, quick responses, knowledge base videos, tutorials

Premier Construction Software has been a huge upgrade for us. Having everything in one system—project management, change management, and accounting—has made a big difference. It’s given our project managers real-time access to the information they need, so they can track invoices, understand job costs, and make better financial decisions without the guesswork. As with any new software, the initial implementation and dedication to get everything set up. Their team is very good so it was as seamless as can be!

Daily bank reconciliations are much easier, and we’ve reduced weekly checks from 150 to just 10 with EFT integration. The compliance features ensure payments aren’t processed until requirements are met, reducing errors and streamlining workflows.
I also really love the job dashboard, which gives our PMs real-time insights into subcontracts, payables, and performance reports. As a result, we can make smarter, data-driven decisions.

Nothing really to complain about with this software.

One feature of Premier that I really appreciate is the dashboard. It’s the go-to place for a complete snapshot of project financials—showing the baseline, how it has varied, and what has impacted it. I especially value the flexibility Premier offers in analyzing different portfolios of information. Whether focusing on specific lines of business or a particular project manager, we can create tailored reports to meet our needs.

There is significantly more communication between accounting and operations now and much greater ownership of financial data. Everyone can see how their actions affect project performance, and leadership can access information directly, without needing to go through others.

Many benefits, but to highlight a few: easy access to project financials, flexible reporting options, and improved communication between accounting and operations.

One small area for improvement would be the initial learning curve with some of the features, but once you're familiar, it's smooth sailing!

We save a huge amount of time with Premier. We used to log lump sums in Excel without knowing which invoice they came from, then dig through QuickBooks to match them. Now, we just click the line item in Premier, and all the invoices come up. You can drill down instantly and find out where discrepancies could be. That’s been huge for us.
The project managers now have more insight into where their project budgets are at, what's being spent on the job and if it's being allocated properly. Without Premier, PMs wouldn't really know what's being charged to their projects or the status of their subcontracts. It was very easy to misallocate an invoice.

Implementation was a bit slow. We had some major differences in our opening balance between Premier and QuickBooks that we had to get fixed, but it's all good now.

The impact that the real-time data of Premier has allows us to catch red flags as soon as they happen without having to wait until a quarter end or a month end and that to us is very, very important. With the project dashboard, each project is almost like its own little company. You have your receivables, you have your payables, your hold back, your profitability. It's very easy to just select the project and get all that information with one touch so we use that all the time. The feature that I rely on the most on Premier for the past 3 years is the OData feature. With this feature, you're able to pull out live data from Premier into Excel with a push of a button and the most important part of this is being able to refresh that data whenever you want.

Like with any software, there are always a few things to fine-tune to meet your specific needs. That said, the support team is responsive and helpful—they work through any issues to ensure your team’s success.

What really sold us on Premier was having everything in one place. The dashboards were a huge help. We used to export reports, wait for downloads, and email them to PMs just so they’d know what was outstanding. Now, it’s all there in real time. I love the job dashboard—it tells PMs exactly what they need to know. I can pull AP reports in seconds; it used to take 30 minutes. Payroll that used to take two days now takes minutes. And we’re no longer relying on outdated information—we have real-time data that’s accurate and relevant.
The Sub Pay App made a huge impact. Invoices aren’t sitting in inboxes anymore—PMs can process them directly. We’ve reduced our accounting team by one person and are running more profitably.
Cost Plus billing is much easier now. It automatically pulls invoices, and if we’re not billing this month, we can easily move it to the next. We used to miss things—now we catch them.
We’re all looking at the same information—and we can trust it. If Premier was taken away, the impact would be huge. We’re saving close to $50,000 a year.

Over the last couple of years, we've utilized some of Premier's biggest automations. The expense app was a big one for us. It allowed all our staff to upload their employee expenses in real time and do the allocation themselves, which saved my accounting team a lot of time. We have recently implemented the Smart UI, which is Premier's partnership with AI. In terms of entering AP, we've seen a ton of time savings, and I think we're just getting started in terms of AI and it's going to be really interesting to see where it goes. I've had a really great experience with the ongoing customer support. I have a recurring monthly meeting with my support team member, and I leave every meeting once a month feeling like inspired to look into something new to inspire time savings, which is really awesome. The customer success team at Premier is always available to answer questions. They have an excellent ticketing system. What we really appreciate is when we send an urgent ticket, I know we're getting a call that day to resolve it. The Premier support team is excellent. I love working with them.

AI tools & automation save us time, and Premier’s support team is always super responsive and helpful.

The job dashboard is a standout as it brings all our project data into one place, something we never had with QuickBooks, Procore, or Excel. It’s helped us implement clear approval processes and gain real-time insights that impact the whole company. From an accounting perspective, Premier is fantastic. It allows us to properly align invoices with estimates, so costs hit the right buckets without relying on accounting to make judgment calls. The PO process tied to job estimates is one of my favorite features, it’s helped reduce errors and improve cost tracking across jobs. We're also starting to bring our inventory online, and Premier’s ability to support a true three-way match will be a huge efficiency gain.

As a CFO, I review the costs and revenues of all ongoing projects daily, which is crucial for catching any potential cost overruns. Premier has been excellent at tracking and recording the large number of change orders we process. We can access data and drill down into details for any cost category we’re reviewing. We now also have a fully functioning inventory module that helps us keep tighter control, resulting in significant cost savings.
The onsite training was a positive experience; they took the time to address our questions and walked us through different applications, giving us valuable hands-on experience. They were proactive and kept suggesting areas for us to consider.

Premier offers a wealth of valuable information and aids in identifying risks related to invoice, payable, or compliance issues. Best of all, the team consistently provides relevant and valuable feedback in honest dialogues—an appreciated rarity.

Premier provides us with tools that support the essential disciplines for Project Managers to achieve success. We regularly utilize the job dashboard, forecast screen, M2M variance report, commitment report, open AR/AP, and the approval inbox to promptly flag deviations. Also, the mobile app is great as it provides real-time updates on their location and current tasks.

There are no cons that I can think of about the product

From a real estate development perspective, Premier offers a unique advantage by allowing the management of multiple companies within a single platform, facilitating a seamless payment process between entities and automating inter-company process. It excels not only in accounting, but also in project management providing a consolidated system for both groups. I genuinely value the ongoing development efforts put in by the Premier team; the system keeps getting better. When it comes to customer support – the people provide timely responses and I feel heard and well-supported.

We have not experienced any downsides from the software.

The reporting is very comprehensive. You can see where you're headed, where you were in previous years, and where you're likely to be. You can even view project-specific details to track how you're doing with the budget. With QuickBooks, I didn’t have that same level of clarity. You need to know where you stand financially and where you're going to be, so you can understand what changes need to be made and we can't do it without Premier. If I didn't have the numbers on the reporting and Premier, I wouldn't have the answers.

Before Premier, I had to create six different reports, download them into Excel, and sort and code the data from the 7th to the 10th of every month. Premier makes us more efficient because we’re not spending half our time balancing and ensuring every system has the same information.

The efficiency has increased tenfold. Not only does Premier provide us with the data, but it also makes it easy to understand—it’s not overwhelming. Other programs I’ve used in the past give me the same data but leave me wondering what it means or where it came from. With Premier, everything is clear.

Additionally, it has cut down my workload by 15-25 hours per week, especially during busy periods. I no longer work 10-15 hour days from the 20th to the 7th of each month, thanks to Premier's more efficient process management. No more chasing change orders!
