Digital Signage in School will RISE to the occasion
Date: Jan 17 2025SummaryThere are many different software companies you can use for digital signage. I was able to demo several and Rise Vision is by far the easiest software to use with several features to customize. On our campus we are moving beyond digital signage with Rise Vision and now utilizing it for instructional purposes by using it to display classroom objectives, agendas, learning standards and vocabulary.
PositiveRise Vision is easy to use, implement, and navigate. We have taken our digital signage into a whole new era as we have rolled our Rise across the televisions and interactive flat panels across our campus. Controlling what is seen and when it is seen is as easy as can be with a minimal learning curve.
NegativeWhile we had some issues with using Firesticks and Rise Vision, the Rise Vision tech support helped address our concerns and found a solution that kept us doing business. My advice is to check compatibility with existing systems and look at systems that might be cost-effective to implement.

NegativeWish there were more templates to choose from. The few available templates are nice, but I would love for more vibrant options to be installed.

Great Flexibility
Date: Dec 05 2025SummaryGreat and easy solution for customizable digital signage which can be completely managed through a webpage. Just make sure that you don't get hardware that is over the top in terms of capability and thereby throw away money.
PositiveEasy integration with Google Workspace. They also offer a large amount of templates that you can choose from to get started, including special templates for holidays. Works great with Amazon Signage Sticks which are around $100 a piece, which is maybe a third the price of a NUC and gives you the bulk of the capability.
NegativeOccasionally they have tried to push hardware as a service (like we need more subscriptions...) and in my opinion they try to nudge you towards using hardware that is a bit overkill.

Great Electronic Bulletin Board

PositiveWe use Rise Vision in our breakroom as an electronic bulletin board for our staff. As a business open 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, and where our employees are often in appointments - it is great to have this program to be able to spotlight employee reviews, contests, upcoming meetings, etc. We have integrated it with Google Slides for a more seamless update process, and it works great!
NegativeSometimes the program can be glitchy and has a hard time connecting to the tv we use for the display.

PositiveVery customizable while still easy to use. All you need to run it is Google Chrome and inexpensive hardware. Complete signage solution with unlimited modules thanks to Rise's own and standard html. Fully scalable to as many screens as you need with straightforward programming.
NegativeReally none. We have older Chromeboxes which need to be rebooted occasionally, but that might be more related to the hardware than the Rise Vision software.
