Plexxis SoftwarePLEXXIS serves as a comprehensive solution for subcontractors by integrating project management, accounting, estimating, takeoff, and mobile applications within a unified technological framework. Furthermore, Plexxis ensures that all implementation and support services are handled entirely in-house, while also offering straightforward agreements designed to safeguard subcontractors from several issues. These include unfair subscription practices, where vendors lack transparency regarding total onboarding costs and may misrepresent offerings without providing reasonable cancellation options. Additionally, they combat cloud cuffing, a tactic where vendors demand fees before clients are operational and may hold client data hostage to extract further payments. The platform also addresses smoke stacking, which occurs when vendors exaggerate the integration capabilities of their tools, and overages, where clients receive vague service rates and non-binding estimates that lead to unexpected change orders. Overall, Plexxis prioritizes the needs of subcontractors by promoting clarity and fairness in their agreements and services.

What is Carlson Takeoff?
Carlson Takeoff is a specialized application that facilitates the calculation of cut and fill volumes while preparing layout or machine control data, allowing for project estimations through the digitization of paper plans, the use of PDFs, or the handling of electronic CAD files. It is available in two distinct editions: Takeoff OEM and Takeoff Suite. The Takeoff OEM variant features an integrated AutoCAD® engine and encompasses all functionalities of the Takeoff Suite, which either necessitates a separate AutoCAD® purchase or includes built-in IntelliCAD®. The Takeoff Suite is composed of multiple modules such as Carlson CADnet, Carlson Trench, Carlson GeoTech, and Carlson Construction, all of which are fully integrated with Carlson Civil and Hydrology to meet a wide array of client needs. Notably, Carlson Takeoff is the only estimating software that can function on either the AutoCAD or IntelliCAD platform. By working directly within the DWG environment, it offers users a pronounced "CAD Advantage," significantly enhancing the precision and efficiency of estimations based on electronic files supplied by engineers. This seamless integration not only streamlines workflows but also fosters improved collaboration among all parties involved in construction projects, ultimately leading to more successful outcomes. The comprehensive features and user-friendly design make Carlson Takeoff an indispensable tool for professionals in the industry.
What is Carlson GIS?
The software can function on its own with the provided IntelliCAD license or can be used in conjunction with a separately purchased full AutoCAD license. When you buy from Carlson Software, you will receive an email containing your new serial number and download instructions, generally within two business days. All the Map tools become available when you work with AutoCAD Map, which offers extra commands for handling Map data, such as labeling Object Data Areas. Users have the ability to generate points with customizable options for symbols, layers, and styles, and the Point Group Manager lets them categorize points into groups based on selected filters. Additionally, the software features automated identification and resolution of overlapping point labels using established rules. It also provides tools for adjusting point labels, including the ability to reposition them with leaders, rotate, or resize them as required. Beyond these features, it encompasses construction estimating functionalities that assist with earthworks, subgrades, material quantities, strata quantities, and trench networks, thereby proving to be a comprehensive tool suitable for a wide range of engineering applications. This adaptability and array of features make it an essential asset for professionals in the field.
