What is The Mom Project?

At The Mom Project, we are committed to empowering women to remain active in the workforce at every stage of their careers, and we take pride in partnering with employers who are dedicated to fostering a better workplace culture. We facilitate connections between women and outstanding companies that appreciate their talents and perspectives on their own terms. By nurturing relationships and advocating for advancements at both the organizational and policy levels, we strive to effect meaningful change. Our approach combines data-driven insights with a people-first philosophy, allowing companies to gain valuable understanding about their work environments, which in turn helps them to effectively support working parents through innovative initiatives and enhanced practices. Additionally, our community for mothers—encompassing all types of moms—serves as a platform for women to inspire each other, chase their career goals, and access vital resources that aid them in balancing their unique paths in parenting and professional life. Ultimately, we believe that having a strong support network can profoundly impact the experiences of working mothers, fostering resilience and success in both their personal and professional endeavors. It is through this collective effort that we can build a more inclusive and understanding landscape for the future of work.

What is Ongig?

Ongig's Text Analyzer tool is designed to remove bias from your job postings while improving the language to draw in passive candidates. Have you considered the impact of "male/female-coded" language that might discourage applicants of any gender? Studies indicate that by removing such gender-specific terms, you could boost your application numbers by as much as 29%. Additionally, the way job descriptions are worded can lead to different responses from male and female candidates, highlighting the importance of inclusive language. The positive outcome of using non-gendered language is a remarkable 41% decrease in cost per application. Do you routinely assess the gender-specific language in your job postings before they go live? If you overlook this aspect, you may be inadvertently passing up on top talent. It's worth noting that many Black applicants are likely to disengage when phrases like "brown bag session" appear in job descriptions. Moreover, women of color often place a high value on Flex/Remote work, financial benefits, and PTO/Vacation policies; are you effectively showcasing these elements in your listings? By ensuring your job advertisements are inclusive and considerate, you can cultivate a more diverse and highly qualified applicant pool, ultimately benefiting your organization. Taking the time to refine your language can result in significant gains for both your hiring process and workplace culture.
