Hive is a surprisingly big ecosystem to anyone who doesn't know much about it. At the base layer, Hive provides the decentralized infrastructure for a host of applications to run on it. The free, 3-second transactions facilitate that in a big way. There are many users on some of those applications (for example many Splinterlands players) that have no idea they are using Hive, yet they do.

There are multiple tokenized communities on Hive, and you can earn in one or more of them. It's a matter of finding the place you are comfortable in and where you are appreciated. And you can always create your own community and tokenize it too.

But Hive is more than the blogging aspect. You can find several interesting games on Hive (including Splinterlands, which is an industry leader), and quite a host of ways to earn, including through defi elements, liquidity pools (called diesel pools on Tribaldex) and other opportunities. There is the possibility to create NFTs on Hive as well (haven't tried it myself).

Currently, the APR for Hive's algorithmic stable coin HBD is set at 20% which is hard to find elsewhere in the world of stable coins, especially on the first layer. Imagine earning 20% interest on dollars...

Onboarding lots of new users in a short period of time can be problematic. But people are working to find solutions.

Really amazing experience with a great community and many projects and opportunities. Got started through Splinterlands and quickly discovered the hive-engine and all else Hive has to offer (so curious to it all I kind of overwhelmed my self, could maybe have taken it slower). Been here little over a year now and still enjoying it daily, recommended!

Well it was 'Steem' before, but since March 2020 our blockchain was forked from it and it is much more pleasant experience overall...

As a social media mainly, it's decentralized and censorship free. People are nice to each other. You get the chance of meeting cool new friends.
Transactions are instant and free. We've got community tokens too!

It's harder to understand in the beginning, but as long as you use it you're about to learn many new things about crypto and any other sphere ;)

Been on it 4 years now and love it! I've increased my investment by over 10 times. I like the decentralized feature the most. Keeps the private "fact-checking" and biased filtering out of the mix.

Censor free. The Decentralized model means no biased "fact-checkers" editing or blocking your posts. One of the few blockchain where you can increase your holdings by voting and posting. Like getting paid to cruise those other social media platforms. Can earn even if price goes down and then keep earning that expands even more when price goes back up!

User interface is better using Ecency or PeakD front ends.
Can be complicated to setup initial account. Ecency makes that easier!

There are good features about this platform, it used to be good for splinter lands too but the bad just outweighs the good. There is no freedom of speech at all, and a small circle of whales or just one can just take anyone they want to 0 and take away all earnings. It is probably the most centralised of them all. It is also just full of constant arguing between creators and witnesses.

- Full censorship, the way the platform runs there is absolutely no decentralisation a handful of whales control everything and can take posts to 0 and basically eradicate you from the platform just because they don't like you or an opinion
- Constant fighting
- Ability for anyone richer than you to take away all your earnings, just one rich whale who doesn't like you and you will effectively earn 0
- Not much of a community, some smaller communities have a decent community but overall a lot of just 'thats nice' comments.

Overall? I love HIVE .. I don't like the downvotes and the circle jerking that goes on... but the pride I felt for the community where we bought Edgar from Venezuela a new water well... or from where we've been supporting Zirochka in Kiev during this war.. or where we raised enough to get Hickory Mack out of being homeless and into a apartment with a job .. those things.. those make it all worth it

Pros? I get paid for content I would otherwise be posting on Facebook for free. Censorship resistant.. your content can be downvoted and blocked from certain font ends but it's always on the HIVE blockchain.. the community is awesome once you take the time to learn and start to interact. The HBD savings account on HIVE pays 12% APR.. there are many front end that are each their own community. There are so many investment options and opportunities that even the most ignorant like me eventually learn from osmosis.

The learning curve was difficult for me. I really was crypto and technology ignorant.. I'm up to crypto knowledgeable and technology retarded.. but I'm learning. I don't like all the different keys. I wish I could just pick my own password. In the beginning it can be hard to gain traction. My advice for new people is to not really post a lot in their first couple weeks but instead to go comment on other people's posts

I spent 2 years participating in another blockchain and when I came to Hive I realized what a serious and real blockchain blog is.

I started to create my own profile and portfolio, and I can say that here the quality of the content is what counts. Far beyond your time in the place, your acquaintances, or whatever, there you can be a real blogger, and if you're good, they'll notice.

The pros of Hive are numerous. It is a blockchain that allows the user to create content of a diverse nature and publish from the same platform, or from specific dapps, such as 3Speak; and this makes it easy for the creator to focus on their niche.

There is excellent interaction between users and great commitment from the administrators and moderators of the platforms.

I find no cons in this ecosystem. It's a decentralized environment, and for co-creator management, I think there's a level of excellence and respect that's unique to Hive.

In general, Hive is fantastic. Its main currency maintains a good growth performance and its stable currency, is one of the best. This is a unique and super cool world, I love it.

Hive is a great window of expression and personal growth in all aspects. Being able to count on a large number of niche communities opens up a great window of opportunity. The economic ecosystem is built to offer a great diversity of monetization and income options through very functional dapps. The play to earn gaming world is an opportunity not to be missed.

Perhaps the medium technical concept to join and use all the available options is a drawback, but it can be overcome with the great help you get from all the experienced users.

Great potential and already hundreds of people are earning well from it. There is something for everyone, but you need to act honestly for that.

I have done well, but that is through putting in the work building communities and supporting lots of people.

Loads of dapps such as games, video and specialist sites. A strong token with good trading volume. A supportive community who will act against those who abuse it.

Bit of a steep learning curve, but lots of people to help you out. Some will say that you get downvoted for doing well, but that applies to a tiny minority and many of those have tried to cheat the system.

Hive has become part of my life for more than 3 years now and a good part of my free time is spent playing blockchain-based games like Splinterlands and Rising Star, writing content and interacting with other users and these are all activities I enjoy doing.
There are aspects that can be improved but Hive is definitely my favorite blockchain project!

In the panorama of blockchain projects Hive is more unique than rare because it has peculiarities that no other project has:
Hive is very fast: 3 second block speeds.
Hive is completely decentralized
Hive has no transaction costs
Hive has many utilities and functionalities (blogging, gaming, defi,...)
Hive is a large and growing ecosystem of projects and sites and Splinterlands is an example and is also one of the most successful gaming projects built on Hive's blockchain.
Hive has no owners but has a great and beautiful community.
I've been an active user on Hive for over 3 years and Hive is definitely my favorite blockchain project.

A new user may have difficulties at the beginning to understand the various dynamics of the platform (wallet and tokens, front-ends, power up, ...) but these difficulties are easily overcome thanks to the support of the many users and communities of Hive that are always ready to help a new user.

I was introduced to it by playing Splinterlands. I like the idea of micro-investing in layer two tokens.

Sorry, I could not think of any setback for now. So far, my experience is beyond my expectation.

My overall experience is favorable. I have been a user of this platform since it was created, and I will continue to use it.

It is a broad platform in terms of concepts and possibilities for participation, dynamic, with effective feedback.

It has its weaknesses as any human project, but it is perfectible. Sometimes decentralization and conceptual updating fail a little.

Hive is great. It's going strong, and there is tons of development going on.
I've made a great deal of my wealth simply posting on Hive.

Loads of active developers and dapps
Loads of front ends to choose from.
Generally a great community.

Steep learning curve.
Some very large whales distribution could be better.

Hive is a great place for like-minded people to both earn and distribute rewards. It's more than just social. The most active DApp in the space, Splinterlands lives on its blockchain. Don't be distracted by the likes of Blurt and Steem, 99% of the effort and brainpower went to Hive.

Hive was born from a contentious hardfork of Steem. Steem was taken over by a centralized authority, so the vast majority of the community went to Hive. While Hive is constantly developed, Steem is largely ignored by its centralized authority. It's really a great place to create content, and earn crypto for your efforts. That crypto can be staked on the blockchain, or sold on several exchanges for Bitcoin and other cryptos. Hive is community-governed which is a pro for most.

Hive is community-governed, which is a con for some with the expectation they can do whatever they want and get rewarded for it. I suspect the one-star reviews here are those who assumed they could get rewards for nonsense, and discovered otherwise.

So far so good. I have now been here for some time and I try to stay as active as I can and earn a few extra bucks.

Good that we earn while learning. It has many other frontends where users can earn extra layer tokens.

Hmm, it does take some time for some users to get exposure.

Overall I am super excited about HIVE every single day. I've been using it for years now, and it never lets me down.

I Love HIVE, I use it for everything from social media browsing, posting and earning, curating posts, to collecting airdrops. Hive is super fast, unlike ETHER, a HIVE transaction is always free, and always 3 seconds to confirm. There is DeFi, Hive-Engine side chain tokens, and even HIVE dollars where you can earn 20% on the stable coin! HIVE is the best, I was just thinking about how much better it is than all other crypto coins because of all the utility it brings me every day!

There is nothing I don't like about it besides the fact that it isn't in every household in America yet. lol

I've been on this network for years since it was Steem. I like the improvements that have been made once it forked to Hive.

Lots of different communities to post to. If you post good content you will be rewarded with lots of Hive.

The initial signup process can be confusing for most people. The easiest way to join is via a dapp like Ecency.

My experience has been satisfactory in every way, the NFT games on Hive are fabulous. It is a very cool platform.

It is an excellent chain of blocks, also my favorite social network. It has a very stable cryptocurrency and a fairly large ecosystem. I highly recommend it.

So far there is nothing i dislike about hive. It is a very complex platform.

Awesome is the word. My entire life has improved since I embraced the Hive Blockchain. It was my first entrance to cryptocurrency back in the days and I'm glad to have learnt a lot and met so many Cool people through it.

Prior to the frenzy about 'Metaverse', Hive gave a true feeling of what it Supposed to be, by having everyone from every part of the world come together in its Blockchain.

Content creation hasn't been so appreciated and rewarded elsewhere as much as it is on Hive Blockchain.

Whether you're a gamer, musician, storyteller, artist, programmer, farmer, crypto trader, all anything else, Hive has so much space for your growth.

The friends and interactions one gets from the Hive community can not be traded for anything. A very common saying about the blockchain is that "you'll come for the money but stay for the community".

I would have said it's a perfect Blockchain, but save for the delay in waiting 3.5days when converting between HBD to Hive and vice versa internally by the blockchain.
