    Functional but somewhat difficult to use secure upload site

    Overall this is a functional site for our secure uploads of banking and personnel information to our company accountant. It is not particularly user-friendly for the non-tech savvy, and the design and navigation is clunky and has the feel of an old school 2000s website rather than a streamlined modern design promoting easy use. Some of the prompts and buttons are very confusing, such as the "add" button next to pinned folders. This site is usable for our organization but it is not one I spend more time with than absolutely necessary.

    Secure database, short upload times, good search features to find past uploaded documents, easy to use once certain functions are enabled, download notifications to see who has received the items requested/uploaded.

    Negative

    Difficult to navigate between folders in an account from an non-administrative end, upload process can be confusing when trying to upload to specific folders, pinning folders to Home Screen is not intuitive and using pinned folders is confusing because the "Add" button does not mean upload but means add another pinned folder.

    Will keep using this product for years to come. The integration with ProSeries tax software is excellent.

    Makes storing cloud copies of tax returns and source documents a snap. Also allows for easy file sharing to/from clients. The integration with DocuSign makes getting signatures simple as well.

    Wish that it had a Droid app, I use the Apple version which works great, but would like the same experience with my Droid devices.

    I use this filing system on a daily basis and I am happy with it. I mostly am checking out/checking in XL and PDF documents and everything works just fine.

    Allows carrying forward of pre-templated folders.
    Close your file and it automatically checks back in to filing cabinet.

    1) Sometimes there is a bit of lag when jumping around and opening files.
    2) It would nice to check out a file in a non-editable manner so that you can be sure you do not make any changes to a file you are viewing .

    We could not be happier. We used to use Lacerte DMS. It was a nightmare. Always having to reformat and things kept in diff folders. Data was not easily found either. With SV connected desktop software we can find any client easily.

    The 100% reliability is the key. We love how SmartVault is integrated with Intuit/Lacerte. It makes our lives simple, efficient, and stress-free.

    Negative

    In mid-2019 SV did an update that made uploading files more stable and faster. Since then I honestly have no complaints. We upgraded our internet speed for faster uploads and using SV is just a breeze. I did think of one issue, but I do not know if the problem is Lacerte's fault or SV? Sometimes a client may already be in SV with years of historical data, but SV will create a new folder for that client under their Lacerte client ID? So a duplicate of sorts. I have not found a consistent pattern and never complained because it's rare and random.

    SmartVault - Great Tool for Bookkeepers

    Within two to three days of getting SmartVault and setting it up, I knew I would not be without it again. This software has significantly reduced my stress levels on the job and increased my work capacity.

    Allows me to keep all client statements, reports, and documents in good order, with everything easy and quick to access. It's on the cloud, so I don't have to worry about losing all those documents due to a hard drive problem. Last but not least, clients don't have to email me documents, they can upload them directly, which is much more secure. SmartVault makes my solo bookkeeping practice look very pro!

    I mainly use SmartVault for storing and sharing financial reports and other files that need to be safely sent to/from my clients. The user interface is professional looking and a step up from what I was using. At some point I need to take the time to meet with someone and really gain a better understanding of how some of the features work.
