What is QuickMove?

Every download, scan and export that lands in the wrong folder costs a drag and drop. QuickMove replaces that with a right-click: pick QuickMove and the file goes to the folder that kind of file always goes to. Rules are made once, in the Rule Wizard, by file name, extension or a pattern (regular expressions allowed), and applied silently ever after; a file no rule covers gets a list of your favourite folders instead. A move history with multi-step undo means nothing is lost. From the context menu you can override or edit a rule, route files into sub-folders by name, and have an existing file in the target renamed instead of overwritten. Add the Automation plugin (US$24.99) and QuickMove watches folders like Downloads and applies the rules by itself. Windows 11 first-page context menu. A single US$29.99 licence, paid once, with free minor updates; free edition and a 7-day trial. Windows 7 SP1 to 11 and Windows Server 2012 R2 and above. Email support within 24 hours.

What is Folders File Manager?

Folders is a file management application tailored for users who have recently migrated from a PC, as well as for those who have longed for a tree-style file manager on their Mac. The interface is exceptionally clean and functional, centered around a folder tree that facilitates distinctive features not commonly found in macOS file managers, such as customizable and expandable Favorites—more than just shortcuts—and symlinks that enhance navigation efficiency significantly. This application encompasses all the essential functions one would expect from a contemporary macOS file manager, including support for multiple windows and tabs, four consistent file view options, easy access to the Home and iCloud Drive folders, dedicated tree nodes for recent files, the ability to apply color and text tags, star ratings for files, and previews for various file types, including audio and video playback. Additionally, it includes a specialized Info panel that displays EXIF data and other metadata, Quick Look functionality, and text recognition in images through Live Text, among many more features. Among its advanced capabilities are the Cut via Bin feature using cmd-X, an efficient Batch Rename tool, sophisticated handling of file conflicts, basic image manipulation tasks such as flipping and rotating, a straightforward built-in text editor, and a robust undo function that even applies to file replacements and folder mergers. With these diverse features, Folders provides a comprehensive and user-friendly file management experience.
