What is Trace?

Trace is an advanced platform for workflow automation that proficiently assesses and visualizes your existing business processes by connecting with applications like Slack, Jira, and Notion, resulting in an integrated overview of data, activities, and users. The system allows users to illustrate, construct, and replicate intricate workflows using a variety of community-sourced templates or custom paths they design themselves. Once workflows are established, Trace smartly assigns repetitive or routine tasks—whether they necessitate human involvement or can be automated by AI—to the right agent, guaranteeing that you retain oversight, permissions, and thorough audit trails during the entire process. Furthermore, it provides chat, search, and API interfaces for engaging with tasks, as well as an extensive knowledge indexing system that spans the organization, ensuring smooth transitions between different projects or teams via specialized workspaces. By integrating these features, Trace enables organizations to automate tedious tasks while preserving their existing workflows, thus enhancing productivity by seamlessly managing both AI and human agents across various responsibilities. This holistic approach not only optimizes operational efficiency but also cultivates a more productive work environment, ultimately benefiting the overall effectiveness of the organization.

What is Cosmos?

Cosmos by Augment Code is an AI agent orchestration platform that helps software engineering organizations automate and manage development activities across multiple teams, repositories, and environments. The platform coordinates specialized AI agents that perform tasks involving software implementation, code review, testing, vulnerability remediation, incident investigation, and development workflow management. Its Expert system allows organizations to configure reusable agents with defined instructions, capabilities, tools, execution environments, and access permissions. Cosmos includes a Context Engine that provides agents with codebase intelligence by identifying relevant files, dependencies, architectural relationships, and existing implementation patterns. The platform supports automated workflows initiated by repository events, project management updates, monitoring alerts, scheduled tasks, and custom webhooks. Its ticket-to-pull-request workflows can investigate assigned issues, generate code changes, run verification procedures, and prepare modifications for engineering review. Automated code review capabilities use specialized agents to assess pull requests for correctness, implementation risks, and issues requiring human judgment. Cosmos provides isolated virtual machines and supports execution on managed cloud infrastructure, self-hosted machines, and supported customer environments. Shared organizational memory allows agents to retain reusable knowledge, reference previous workflow outcomes, and apply updated instructions across future executions. Governance capabilities include human-in-the-loop approval checkpoints, versioned workflows, execution auditing, access controls, and configurable spending limits for automated operations. Integrations with GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Linear, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Model Context Protocol tools enable organizations to connect agent workflows with their existing development infrastructure.
